Destruction of Europe’s Jews: Historical Events, Causes, and Personal Experiences Paul Schatzberg Paul Schatzberg was born in Vienna, Austria, and at age 10 experienced the takeover by Germany and its terrible consequences. As a part-time graduate student at Baltimore Hebrew University (BHU) for over ten years, he studied the Hebrew Bible, Jewish Philosophy, and History, including the Shoah. Paul taught Holocaust History for the Elderhostel Program, sponsored by BHU. He has participated in a number of conferences on the Holocaust and has attended many semi- nars and lectures at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
