Reflections Grade 7 Middle School Week of 11th March, 2013 Volume 24 Assembly—Grade 8 Y On Wednesday,13 th March, Grade 8y presented an assembly on Bullying. An introduction on the topic by Kieran was followed by a short skit on the effects of bullying. The interesting aspect of this skit was the unconventional presentation of the act of bullying amongst the girls. The skit was followed by some thoughts shared by the students on Bullying: Why do bullies bully? What is the role of the Spectators? What are the effects of bullying on the victim? The thoughts shared in the assembly was a combined effort of Anushka and Nikhil of Grade 8y. Such questions led to an open discussion with the Middle School students on the issue.

Concluding Week :

Ms Poonam addressed the students on making comic strips.

Ms Varsha asked the students to confer with her the details of the marine animals that they chose for creating their comic strips

Briefly discussed the history of England in refer-ence to Christianity, Catholicism, Protestantism and the Anglican Church; the place of a ‘Bishop’ in the episcopal hierarchy

Concluding Week:

In cricket students practiced the techniques of gripping the bat, basic stance of batting and back lift. They also completed the second inning of matches. In golf, along with practicing the techniques of gripping and learning the basics stance, the students al-so focused on addressing the ball. In horse riding students concentrated on the betterment of the skills of trotting the horse. In tennis students practiced the techniques of back hand and fore hand.
