Six Sigma Green Belt Syllabus Rollins College – MGT 612 - Hybrid
As a Six Sigma practitioner, you are about to embark on learning a five-phase approach to resolving problems. Each phase is designated in this diagram.
It is common to become quickly overwhelmed by the complexity of this methodology. But as we break each phase down, the pieces of the puzzle will come together as shown in the Blueprint for Breakthrough below.
There are five phases of training the first of which will focus on making sure you understand what it takes to properly define a Lean Six Sigma project. This is the single most important objective of this session of training. Hence the name for this phase of the methodology is called “Define”.

Four subsequent phases of the methodology will be taught. These are titled: Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. As we will learn a bit later, the application order of these phases is truly something important and unique to Six Sigma.

Below is your certification course syllabus which lays out the required coursework in the order it should be completed. All the modules that will be covered in the Green Belt course are also available online in the BMG University system. The modules listed as pre- and post- work in the syllabus must be completed before the appropriate phases of training as seen below. The online locations for the in-class modules are also listed below, but these are optional for Green Belt students, except as shown in the pre- and post-work sections. It is recommended to take the quizzes associated with the in-class modules even if the modules will not be reviewed at this time. Green Belts must register for each individual module in the BMG University system. A tutorial of the module registration process is attached at the end of this syllabus.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt students taking exams will need these reference files during the test. Please download the ZIP file before you start taking your exam. The file you need to download is under Catalog > 06. Exam Information > 02. Exam Data Files: Exam Files: Green Belt Define/Measure, Exam Files: Green Belt Analyze, Exam Files: Green Belt Improve, Exam Files: Green Belt Control. There is also available for your reference a file called SS GB Exam Topics under: Catalog > 06. Exam Information > 03. Exam Study Guides. This file can be used as a guide to review what’s covered on the exam.
Project Work: Completion, submission and acceptance of one Lean Six Sigma Project Final Report to be officially assessed by a BMGI Master Black Belt is required for GB Certification by BMGI.
An electronic copy of your Six Sigma Project Final Report must be emailed to [email protected] for assignment to a BMGI Master Black Belt for assessment.
Please use the BMGI Report Template to present your project findings.
Exams: To achieve Six Sigma certification, you must achieve a passing grade (70% or greater) on each section of the Six Sigma Green Belt exams; each exam has 3 sections.
Six Sigma Green Belt candidates have 90 minutes for each section of the exam. You will find 12-20 questions per section.

BMGU Module Registration Tutorial
1. At the login screen: Enter your Username and Password. You will be automatically redirected to the top level welcome screen.
2. Click on the “Learn” button in the top Menu Bar Select “Catalog” from the drop-down menu. You will be
automatically redirected to the Catalog Page

3. The online modules are located under various headings in the Access Course Content menu.
4. Select the Menu Category for a required module: for example, “Awareness and Introduction.” A list of available modules is shown.
5. Choose a Module, for example, “Introduction to Lean” by clicking on the “Register” button.
The user is then redirected to the Activity Details Screen.

6. After you register the module, this can be accessed from the “Training Schedule.” Go to Learn > Training Schedule.
7. Other way to manage your registered modules is by adding to your favorites section. You can do this after you click the “Register” button and then clicking on “Add to Favorites…” on the left column menu list. You will be redirected to your “Favorites” list.
