UPCOMING EVENTS!

Say “Yes” to SCFD Next November!

Since 1989, Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has distributed funds from a 1/10 of 1% sales and use tax to cultural facilities throughout the seven-county Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. The funds support cultural facilities whose primary purpose is to enlighten and entertain the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement and preservation of art, music, theatre, dance, zoology, botany, natural history and cultural history. Denver voters were asked in 1994 and again in 2004 to reauthorize the small sales tax which supports the 304 Denver arts and sciences facilities, and they did so enthusiastically. We’ll again be voting next November (2016) on whether to continue the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) tax and, as an Arts organization that has benefitted greatly from SCFD funding, we’d like to encourage all Sound of the Rockies patrons to vote “YES” and thus keep Colorado number one* in the country.
