January 29, 2013
We are writing to you on behalf of the students and faculty of Point Dume Marine Science Elementary School. On March 2, 2013, we will be having our sixteenth annual Marine Science Dinner, which benefits our PTA funded programs and Marine Science Lab. The event will be held at Duke’s Restaurant in Malibu.
We are seeking donations for both our silent and live auctions. A large portion of the revenue raised at this event each year is from the auctions. We would also appreciate your consideration of the various advertisement and sponsorship opportunities that are available. We are a 501(c)(3) non‐profit organization (Tax ID #23‐7010618). Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
In these days of ever decreasing, and extremely limited funding for public education, our PTA must look to its business neighbors, families, and friends to support the programs which heavily supplement school curriculum. Malibu is a small and tightly knit community. Our families support local businesses on a daily basis. Your name associated with this event will demonstrate your support of our school and commitment to our children. Your donation will help to fund all of the programs that our PTA now pays for including art, music, science, library books, classroom instructional aides, field trips, assemblies, and so much more. The Marine Science Dinner is our largest fundraising event of the year and we sincerely hope that you will join us in supporting educational opportunities for the children of our community.
Thank you for your consideration, commitment, and generosity. Please don’t hesitate to contact any of us with questions or if you’d like additional information. Warmly, 2013 Marine Science Dinner Chairpersons,
Nanette McNulty 310‐951‐3616 [email protected] 3rd V.P. Fundraising
