peak performance leaders: leadership development
TRANSCRIPT
Peak performance
Leaders
In a business world driven by fast-changing markets, technological
disruption, globalisation and convergence, new expectations and
possibilities, business leaders need to raise their game
… to think and act different … to perform better.
Objectives of the three day leadership program:
• To explore the elements of individual performance in the context of
change, and goal of “better” leadership
• To develop creative ideas for how we, individually and together, can
be better in a changing business environment
• To prioritise which ideas would have most positive impact, short and
long-term, and develop action plans for implementation.

Day 1 Morning session
How can I think better ?
Markets are complex and fast changing, with convergent sectors and
globally connected. Opportunities are diverse and unlimited, customers
are powerful and expectant. It is an ideas world, where competition
advantage is about out-thinking others, rather than being slightly better
or cheaper. This requires us to think bigger, different and smarter.
• Exploring: making sense of complexity and change to find the best
new opportunities for business
• Disrupting: seeing things from different points of view, to find the
discontinuities and new possibilities.
• Creating: developing better ideas with insight and imagination
about every aspect of business inside and out.

Day 1 Afternoon session
How can I focus better ?
Making choices is hard. Organisations diversify as more opportunities
emerge, extending to new audiences and activities. Resources are
stretched, and effectiveness reduced. Strategy is about making better
choices. Where are you going? What matters most? How to do it?
• Visioning: defining your higher purpose, the “why” that drives your
“who” and “what” and “how”
• Choosing: making smarter choices about strategy and priorities,
markets and products, investments and resources.
• Simplifying: doing less to achieve more, focusing on what matters
most, simplifying amidst complexity

Day 2 Morning session
How can I deliver better ?
Customers demand more, faster and better. They expect promises to be
delivered and exceeded, on their terms, constantly improving. Leaders
need to ensure more effective delivery today, communicating more
clearly, motivating people to achieve more. They also need to be agile to
fast-changing markets and new opportunities.
• Energising: communicating on your audience's terms, context and
clarity to build engagement and momentum
• Collaborating: working together across functions, with customers
and external partners to embrace diversity and achieve more
• Adapting: building agility, to stay flexible and responsive to change,
to personalise, adapt and evolve

Day 2 Afternoon session
How can I perform better ?
Business must deliver better results, creating more value financially but
also for customers and society, delivering today and creating tomorrow.
From command and control, leaders are catalysts. and coaches,
connectors and conscience, achieving more positive impact together.
• Balancing: achieving a positive difference by balancing your impact
commercially and in other ways, making people's lives better
• Changing: making change happen, by being the change, moving to
a better place, and sustaining it.
• Amplifying: adopting the right leadership style for you, inspiring
followers whilst amplifying the potential of others

Day 3 Morning session
How can we all be winners?
Action Plans based on the prioritised choices made on the previous day.
This final morning session is about individuals making sense of their
overall personal plans and how they will each achieve more.
This is followed by discussing what collective support they will need,
how it is different from today, and what collective impact it will make.
