PEC LOBBY OPEN WITH PRECAUTIONS After closing our lobby on March 23, PEC’s
lobby is currently open under Governor Stitt’s Phase One guidelines. Employees continue to take recommended precautions prescribed by the state and federal health agencies in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus. PEC remains focused on maintaining a healthy workforce and keeping key personnel available so that we can continue to provide the excellent service you expect from us.
Members can expect to see plexiglass shields at the front desk and teller stations. Social distancing guidelines are also posted in PEC’s foyer upon entry to our headquarters building located at 1600 North Country Club Road in Ada. Teller stations are wiped down after every transaction. Additionally, hand sanitizer is available at each teller window and member services representatives have been provided with personal protective equipment. While not required at this time, members are encouraged to wear a mask. 672101700
Members who feel sick or exhibit any signs of illness are asked to not enter PEC’s buildings for everyone’s safety. The staff will also watch for social distancing and if necessary, may ask some members to wait outside while others fi nish their transactions.
Kyle Stuart, senior VP of administrative services, said PEC continues to off er assistance to members aff ected by the pandemic. “If members are struggling to pay their bill due to lost wages related to COVID-19, absolutely call us and talk to us.” Since the onset of the crisis, PEC has been assisting members with payment arrangements and coordination of energy assistance. “We want to help our members get through these challenging times,” Stuart said.
While we all work to stop the spread of the coronavirus, members can continue to take necessary precautions by conducting business the following ways in place of an in-offi ce visit:
• Use our drive thru window (M-F 8 AM - 5 PM) • Use the after hours drop box • Utilize the Smarthub App –
www.PeoplesElectric.coop/smarthub • Call by phone (580) 332-3031 (M-F 8 AM - 5 PM) • Contact us by email –
[email protected] • Send mail - PEC, P.O. Box 429, Ada, OK 74821
While not required, appointments are still available if you wish to meet with us in-person. Please call (580) 332-3031 during regular offi ce hours to set up an appointment.

Home cooling makes up a large portion of your energy bills. Try to keep the di erence between the temperature of your thermostat setting and the outside temperature to a minimum. The smaller the di erence, the more energy you will save.Source: cooperative.com

PEC DAY BOOTH RESERVATIONS - NOW OPENSaturday, September 26, 2020, at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex in Ada
At the heart of our workforce are many talented and dedicated East Central University students. We would like to celebrate an extra special honor that has been awarded to our own part-time accounting clerk Cullen Edens. Congratulations, Cullen, on being named ECU’s George Nigh 2020 recipient. Cullen has worked at the co-op part-time since 2016 and recently graduated ECU with his bachelor’s in accounting.
The George Nigh Award goes to the top graduating senior from ECU and is named in honor of the former governor of Oklahoma and ECU alumnus.
“We had exceptional Nigh fi nalists this year, and it must have been a diffi cult decision for the selection committee to choose only one,” said ECU President Katricia Pierson. “Each student has unique strengths, and all fi ve fi nalists have a passion to help others. Cullen adds a level of leadership and commitment that makes him an outstanding student and deserving of this year’s George Nigh Award.” 642900405Source: https://www.ecok.edu/news/edens-named-2020-george-nigh-award-winner
How do you plan a big meeting in the midst of a global pandemic? Verrry
carefully. At PEC, staff continue to plan for the annual membership meeting on Saturday, September 26 at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex in Ada, but are keeping a careful eye on the rise of infection and the advice of experts. “The Agri-Plex is a versatile facility which provides us the ability to make some adjustments to our big day while working to keep everyone as safe as possible,” said Jennifer Boeck, event coordinator and VP of corporate communications and community relations. “Without a crystal ball to the future, much is uncertain. We’re going to do everything we can to make this year’s meeting a success,” Boeck added. 851302601
This year, southern gospel quartet Masters Voice will make their fi rst annual meeting appearance. Other entertainers scheduled to perform include up-and-coming young country artist Dylan McPhetridge from Stuart, Okla., along with gospel bluegrass family Pearlgrace & Company, and local favorite Southern SONlight.

craft items; however, a planned reduction of 25% of our booth spaces will be made to allow for distancing for both vendors and those in attendance. With 41 paid reservations in hand, spaces are already fi lling up inside the convention center, so if you are interested in having a craft booth or food booth/truck, make your reservation as soon as possible.

STAMP OF KINDNESS
Following is a reminder that it is the little things we do day in and day out for others that make the biggest impact on their lives. 392900600
“An older member tried numerous times to pay her bill by phone and was not able to. This member could not leave her house, so Betty mailed her some of her own stamps she had in her purse. While this was a very small thing to do and not something we could or should do daily, it demonstrated what a problem solver Betty is and was one of the many things people are doing every day to get through this pandemic. Betty gives exceptional service to our members and treats her team the same way.”
