    PECTORAL REGION

    SURFACE ANATOMY:• ANTERIOR: Pectoralis major m.(male) & mammary gland (female)

    • POSTERIOR: Scapula

    • FASCIA:• SUPERFICIAL: Fat >>, vessels&nerves (cephalic v.), mammary gland

    • DEEP: continue to abdominal region

    • Pectoral fascia: clavicle to sternum, encloses pectoralis major m., continue dorsi form axillary fascia

    • Axillary fascia: as the base of axillary fossa, form suspensory lig.of axillafascia, continue to brachial fascia

    • Clavipectoral fascia: encloses pectoralis minor m.&subclavius m.,

    Costocoracoid membrane: pierces by cephalic vein, thoracoacromial a., lan.

    Mammary gland

    • Extends from 2nd-6th ribs, Lateral

    sternum to midaxillary line• Supported by suspensory lig.(cooper’s), retromammary space

    • Modified sweat glands, consists oflobulesducts&sinusnipple

    • Vascular supply: axillary artery,internal thoracic, intercostals aa.

    • Innervation: intercostals nn.

    • Venous drainage: follow its arteries

    • Lymphatic drainage: mostly to Axillarynodes

    Anterior Pectoral region

    Muscles:• Truncocingular:

    pectoralis minor

    • Truncoextremital:pectoralis majorsternocostal part

    Cinguloextremital:pectoralis majorclavicular part

    Muscles:• Extrinsic superficial: Trapezius & latissimus dorsi

    • Extrinsic profundus: levator scapulae, rhomboidei minor et major

    • Intrinsic: mm. deltoideus, supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapulaminor et major.
