(OFDA) of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) initiated an Urban Search and Rescue program in Asia
• Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department (MDFRD) provided technical inputs in developing the program.

the Caribbean and South Pacific (1990s)• The program was renamed Program for

• In October 2000, ADPC, OFDA and MDFRD visited response agencies in the target countries during a program design mission and baseline data gathering.
