About Powder Diffraction & PXP
PXP is an online manuscript submission system utilized by the American Institute of Physics (AIP)
Powder Diffraction went online with PXP on 31 December 2008
New manuscripts were accepted via the PXP system as of 1 January 2009
Allows authors and editors to electronically track their work
Offers set templates that can be edited as needed Minimizes or eliminates need for paper and folders
Information You Need to Know
Manuscripts can only be accepted in Microsoft® Word (1997-2003) compatible format
Figures can only be accepted in post script or PDF format Figures should not be embedded in the article file
Article and Figure files are combined into a PDF file; source files are kept intact for easy access and editing

Copyright Transfer/Publishing Agreement
• You can find the agreement at http://www.icdd.com/resources/pdj/authors.htm
• You can upload this file with your manuscript– Create an electronic file with your signature
embedded on the form– Choose “Copyright” as the file type when
uploading this file– You may also fax, email, or mail the document
• Each author must sign the agreement
Where to Submit Your Manuscript
• To set up your account or to login go to– http://pdj.peerx-press.org
Submitting Your Manuscript
• After logging in to the system, choose “Submit Manuscript”
• You will then see an information screen, where you can choose the appropriate manuscript type
Uploading Your Files
• Once you have chosen your manuscript type, you can start uploading your files.

you need to choose the file type and order of each of your files.
Order and Verify Your Files• Name your figure file(s) (i.e., Fig. 1);
verify that all files are correct and in the order you want
Finishing your Submission Add any additional author information and key
words Add any additional notes and information for
AIP and Powder Diffraction editors Add information about copyright transfer Validate your submission
View the combined PDF file to make sure all content is included
