Maria Bianculli DesignsWhat inspired you to get into the jewelry industry and at what age did you start?

I was interested in design since I was a 12 years old, one of my hobbies were creating neck-laces and bracelets for my family and friends as Christmas gifts. Then when I was 30 years old I

started taking the design seriously with a business perspective.

I started looking at jewelry seriously from a business perspective in 2002, and since that moment I keep creating original and exclusive pieces, all hand-made.

What motivates you to continue what you do?

My motivation is to the actual woman that nowa-days in this competitive

world needs to be beautiful and fashionable, that is why i´m always innovating with new tendencies what is vogue and I try to include it in all my creations made with stones and exotic seeds.

I’m inspired by what beauty means to me: “it is not only the concept of beauty, it is what the word involves (sophistication, originality, elegance and identity) based on that, a new creation is born”.

Q3: What is your pet peeve?

The beach, I love to relax just seeing the ocean

Q5: What is your greatest joy?

My greatest joy is that all the actual women love my pieces, and I can see them wearing them, because in that why I realize that they like MB jewelry and they enjoy using them to feel different and unique.

Q6: What is your biggest fear?

I don´t consider right now to have any fear, actually I´m a very positive person and I try to don´t let any fear or negative thought to enter in my life

Q7: How would you de-scribe your creations in three words?

Unique, different and special

Q8: If you could do any-thing extreme for a day what would it be?

I will like to jump in Benji

Q9: Other than being a designer, what other profession do you think you would be good at, or interested in?

I will see myself in any decorating career, I re-ally like also The Interior Designs, I often do the interior decoration of my family and close friends

Q10: What is your most memorable child-hood memory?

One memorable moment in my childhood was all the reunions with the whole family during

the afternoons in Italy, is a tradition there that all the families get together and share all the good moments and we used to eat since 12am to 5pm,in Italy you eat too much (laughs)

Q11: How was Maria Bianculli Designs founded and promoted?

The idea of MB Designs started in 2002, but the brand was born in 2008. Since two years ago we started promoting the brand in Venezuela, in different events, different business and spas starting carrying on our brand. Last year, 2009, we started expanding the business in some countries in Latin-America, and in Trinidad & Tobago we had the opportunity the let us know when we were invited to be the jewelry spon-sor of Miss World T&T, where all the pageants wore the 4 different collections we have (Ethnic & Beach, Classical, Papagayo and Night) in the variety of presentations they did.

Q12 Do you have a role model?

A role model in jewelry no, but I have been al-ways attracted by the elegance and the designs of the Fashion Designer, Carolina Herrera, I like the simplicity and elegance in her creations.

Q13: If you could design jewelry for one international celebrity who would it be and why?

I loved to design for Diana Spencer; she was very simple and elegant with that humble and charismatic personality. But it the actual time I would love to design something for Sandra Bullock, I love her personality she is very un-inhibited but at the same time very elegant, I consider she will know how to use the piece of jewelry very well and everybody will ask her, who made that jewelry piece? (Laughs)

Q14: What is your vision for Maria Bianculli Designs in the next 10 years?

I see the brand in 10 years very consolidated, that people recognize it everywhere, and a lot of women would love to have one piece of MB designs for her or for him, because we see our-selves getting into the men´s line as well.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy my life thanks to God, he is my biggest inspiration to continue doing what i like, also I enjoy to be with my family and to go to the beach

What is your favourite food?

I like all Italian foods, and I love a good tiramisu and a good coffee.

What is one goal and place you would like to accomplish and go before you die?

Well, that question is very philosophical, I don´t think yet in leaving this world (laughs), but one of the goals I would like to accomplish for ex-ample to have my creations in Bloomingdales, Macys, Saks fifth Avenue and all the biggest stores worldwide. Also, I would like to visit Jeru-salem and El Cairo.

If you could give one advice to anyone with a dream. What would it be?

I always say that each of us have a gift in this life, and my advice is that everyone show to the world his or her talent without fears, and always do the things with love and passion and believ-ing in yourself. Remember you are what you think.

Keron Patrick Clinton Bernard Lewis, simply known as Keron Lewis is a 22 year old model from the shores of Trinidad and Tobago. He has been modelling for the past 3 years and has been spotted in several ads and events such as the Digicel Top Up campaign and the RBTT series of ads. His agent, Kai Jankvic of ISLAND must be very proud of his well-man-nered and multi-talented model!

BSTD: Keron, how did you get that killer body of yours? What’s your exercise and diet like?

KL: Well I am an athlete. I sprint 100m and 200m so the constant training has a part to play. I train from Mondays to Saturdays and I hit the gym from Mondays to Thursdays! My diet is also full of protein filled meals so that helps!

BSTD: What’s your favourite type of model-ling? Print, video media, runway?

KL: I like runway and print media the most…I cannot say that I am a fan of video adver-tising.

BSTD: What’s one thing you’ve never done- modelling-wise and otherwise...but you’d

like to do? Is there an icon of yours you would like to work with - model...photogra-pher...designer?

KL: I would like it do a shoot with Izabel Goulart! She is a renowned model from

Brazil and big in Europe.

BSTD: When you’re not modelling and train-ing, what are you doing? What’s your idea of fun?

KL: I work at TSL and when I have time for my self, I party hard *laughs* and

then sleep a lot…that’s it!

BSTD: Do you have any other hidden tal-ents?

KL: Hmmm…well I do track and I think I am talented in that respect!

BSTD: What’s your best time?

KL: 10.73 in the 100 and the 200 22.80

BSTD: That’s really fast, Keron! Let’s play psychic *laughs*....what does your future

look like? Do you have any upcoming proj-ects that we should look out for?

KL: I’d love to share but I’ll have to keep that to my self for now! When it happens then you would know.

BSTD: *pout* That’s fair, but do we have any clues as to where to look?

KL: Look for me on the sporting arena.

1.What genre of music do you?

I can’t class my music, i like to do a mix..... be-tween Reggae & rap... or just anything and Rap

2.What made decide to choose this Genre?

I never chose this genre, its almost like it chose me, my music just started off as poetry, and then a beat was put to it... and from there I realised my words, could be turned into musical lyrics.

3.Who inspired you to do music?

No one in particular.It was just something that was just lingering there in the background, My uncle was a Disc Jockey, and my mom always listened to music, there was hardly ever a time that music wasn’t around me.

4.Who is your favourite international star?

R.I.P. Tupac Shakur

6.Who is your favourite Local star?

Bunji Garlin

6. What struggles did you go through or are going through to come out into the world of music?

Well everyone is going through a struggle especially with the recession.. so financially its a major struggle, especially being a young person trying to get in. Besides that this industry is a peculiar one, people get involved in it for fame money, or because it’s their calling. so the big-gest struggle is just meeting up with the right people, because there are so many different types that exist in the industry, that may either make or break you.

7.What were some of your turning points?

The most memorable one was when I just want-ed to give it up, because it didn’t seem possible

at first so I decided to live a normal life, I want-ed things that I could have gotten through the music, just at the time it wasn’t as quick as I wanted it to be, but then I met up with my friend Curtis (Prince C) and then later on Ju-nior Reid (Mr. Reid) who were already into the whole music vibe, so we just ended up decid-ing to really do this thing together.

8.What gave you the encouragement to move on?

The constant nonesense on the radio , dont get me wrong, I know people will hate me for saying it, and no disrespect to people in the industry, but there are some really good songs out there not all are nonesense, just more and more songs barely have a positive meaning. And when I write music, I try to be as real as possible.

9. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Just being better than I started off... so I see myself being very successful in music.

10.What have you done thus far to market yourself?

Well I’m waiting for a finished product, to mar-ket.... and then I’ll share that with you later on.

11. How many songs have you written or re-leased?

Thirteen

12.Who do you hope to do collaborations with in the future?

Alicia Keys, Stephen marley, KMC, Marlon Asher, Junior Gong Marley.

13. Do you produce your own music?

Not currently. I hope to do so in the future.

We all expect something from someone but do we really meet there expectations?

For most people we wake up each day and we follow a routine while others just go with the flow and search for their next move....but then again we do what we want and we are contented but yet still we want others to do what we expect of them as well.

Do we meet their expectations? And if we do not then is it fair to expect them to do anything, let alone meet our expecta-tions?

Then there are sum that say they have expectations when re-ally they are just overly dependent on someone to meet their needs and when that person does not do every single thing that they want...they say they do not meet their expectations. When in reality they are just not being their personal puppets! (do not let people take advantage of you because one they know they can ..they will forever abuse it)

THE POINT IS THIS:

we need to understand what we want and how to get it and most importantly how to get it without depending on anyone

It is nice to have friends and people we love but only you can determine your future

people can say things and also tell you what to do but in real-ity it is your choice to listen or not, do as they say or do what you wish, but never confuse doing the right thing with the wrong, just because it feels right does not always make it that way

When it comes to being happy expect nothing from no one because the only person that cannot betray you is yourself. it is nice to have faith in people but always remember that the only person you are supposed to have faith in is God .

People will come and go in your life and relationships can be like seasons but you will always have you.

We expect so much from others but do we ever expect any-thing of ourselves?

And if we cannot meet other people’s expectations, then can we at least meet our own?

Find yourself by yourself, only you fully know yourself and though it may be easy to lie to others, you cannot lie to your-self. Figure out who you are without the opinions of others,

then once that is done find your own expectations, find what you expect from yourself and those are the ones you meet.

Expect nothing from no one and meet no one’s expectations but those of God.

If we spent less time pleasing others and more pleasing our self and him we would have less stress to deal with

If someone does not like you the way you are then you do not need a person like that in your life, if you can’t trust a person then you cannot depend on them and if you could say that a “friend” makes you uncomfortable then they are not a friend in the first place.

KEEP IT MIND THAT FRIENDS ARE THERE TO ADD TO YOUR LIFE , NOT TO TAKE FROM IT...if we as people continue to try to meet the expectations of every one then we will never be happy....we will never live life and we would not be individuals

No we would just be other people’s opinions of what they think we should be and not who we really are,

If God made us in his image and likeness then are we not tell-ing him that his creation is not good enough when we alter ourselves to fit the needs of people?

THINK ABOUT IT!!.....DON’T GET ME WRONG ADVICE AND GUID-ANCE ARE NOT BAD ITS ONLY WRONG WHEN YOU STOP MAK-ING DECISIONS FOR YOUR SELF AND YOU DO WHAT OTHERS “EXPECT” OF YOU!

REMEMBER THIS: expect nothing from no one and meet no one’s expectations but the ones of god and you self, learn from guidance and advice but do not let it be the deciding factor in your choices...always have an input in your life because you are the one to live it. We are all different and we are all always learning. We mess up and we make mistakes. At times we can right our wrongs and other times we cannot but do not EVER give up your voice or your right to decide because.........

TEENAGERS

In this day and age we look at them and say, “they are just kids, what do they know”….. Truth is every teenager is different so cat-egorising all of them under one bracket is unfair and very incor-rect. We do not know the road all of them may have to travel or the roads they have travelled on thus far, so why judge them or place tags on them as if they are just another statistic . If no two persons are the same then why do we base our opinion on teens today on just a few people that we may know? Maybe this is so because we talk more when a person does badly, rather than when they do well. Why is it easier to push down than uplift? Why do we hurt our brothers and sisters lowering their self-esteem when we could take that same time and sentence and instead of saying something hurt-ful we could say something with meaning? Say something that would inspire rather than be little or discourage them or put them in a place of self-doubt.

Then people talk about how our teen population have lowered in standards and they are driven to crime and violence….. but what they don’t say is how little they do to ensure their own children feel appreciated. Everyone wants to feel like they matter, they all want to be noticed and if you won’t give them the attention they want then guess what they will get it in another way, even if it means doing wrong. It’s simple, to prevent something you have to take precautions and sometimes the precautions may seem foolish but little do you know they make a great differ-ence. People say self-praise is no praise at all but in today’s society if you don’t tell you’re yourself job well done, you just may never hear it.

What I am trying to say is, tell your children when they do well that they did well…let them know you are proud of them when you are. Instil values in

them that you would want to see passed down to the next genera-tion.

Raise them believing that no dream is impossible and noth-ing is out of their reach. That hard work persistence and determi-nation are the keys to success. And they could be the person they want to be and that is good enough. We all want the best for our chil-dren but not everyone can be a doctor and not everyone can be an Olympic medallist, some of them are designers and artists and even gardeners. Remember to each their own, find out what is your child’s calling and let them follow it. Do not try to choose the life you want them to lead because they are the ones who have to live it. We can want the best for our children but only they will know what they want to do. And they will they will do what they want to do, so your job is to support and guideJust because Sue-Ann is an artist does not me every teen would or

should know how to paint. You don’t measure greatness by what someone else does; you measure greatness by how you as a person make a difference. Doing what you are good at and not being negative to other people’s talent or gift because it is not yours. So sure Sue-Ann is an artist, but is she a dancer? As I said before to each their own, no job is small and no calling is silly.

If God made each of us in his im-age and likeness then who are we to judge anyone but ourselves? Being unique is the best trend we could follow, have a good head on your shoulders and know you are going places, wherever you want to go, and don’t just say it, be-lieve it because how do you want people to believe in you if you do not even believe in yourself?....leave each day to ….live…laugh...love…lean and enjoy being a teenager

You think ah boy!!! u finish high school you get older some even become “adults” so u automatically think that hey

we are all mature.....wrong...very very wrong

as humans we make mistakes, yeah we screw up but at the end of the day where is forgive-ness? When did i am sorry...stop meaning something and when did we stop remem-bering the statement shit happens

Don’t get me wrong if u keep apologizing for something that u continuously do then i understand if your sincerity begins to go un-noticed but if you are dealing with someone you love then should you believe they are sorry and they are not trying to deceive you?

My point is sometimes when u believe you know someone and you believe that u know what hurts and does not hurt them. But what happens if you screw up and hurt them? then all you can do is say you are sorry and hope for the best....rite?......even when you were oblivious to the fact that they were even hurt in first place because they were not even mature enough to talk about it or about how they feel.

People fight and make up, people fight and never make up and then some people just stops talking to each other and then, that’s it no more anything. HUM MM DOES THAT RE-ALLY HAPPEN? ......YES, because if someone I

thought I knew could do it two months ago, they why can’t someone I loved and cared for more than anyone else do it to....correction from what I have herd DID!! It already.

My reason for writing this not is because i would like anyone who reads this to know that people are not what they always seem to be...they have feelings, and everyone has a breaking point and there is only so much one can take .........know that some of the real-est people you think you may know could be some of the most fake, empty souls that you could come across in this life time

I now believe that no one could ever have your back like yourself and I understand y people don’t always trust people........they can screw you over and treat u like garbage.....and the best part is they never really tell u why because they are indecent and inhu-man, how do u discard someone you claim to love and not even say why? If that is was a “friend” then i don’t need that kind of false-ness in my life.......but yet still........
