Turf Talk Thank you for another great season this year at Pembroke Pines! The golf course is certainly headed in the right direction thanks to the hard work of our maintenance crew, construction, design, & management teams. My team and I are very excited to take part in the ongoing improvements and look forward to a seeing the finished product. We are currently completing a tree removal project on the back nine. Eliminating a number of trees in select areas will allow space for some new tee boxes scheduled to be built next spring as well as to open up some areas to allow for increased sunlight and air flow. This will drastically improve turf conditions over time and improve both the playability and overall enjoyment of the golf course. Stay warm this winter and let’s hope for an early spring! Beautiful fall foliage along the Soucook River on the 17th hole.

Swing Tip Next time you are on the putting green, try taking a little longer back swing and see if that helps with your distance control. Watch the tour players; their putting strokes are long and flowing. Also, putting is about imagination and confidence. Trust your read and make a good stroke. Don’t try to steer the putt. Pick a good line at a good pace and trust your read. You will make more putts!
