Quilt Club News Row, Row, Row Your Quilt, Gently as you Sew. The

biggest trend in quilting right now is setting your

quilt blocks in rows with a shashing of some type in

between the rows. Each row is made from all one

pattern of block or one long rectangle of applique.

This type of quilt can be seen on television shows, in

magazines, and is part of a national “shop hop.”

Hundreds of shops across the country design their

own row patterns and give them out free for visiting

the shop. You can also purchase the kit. This year’s

theme is Home Sweet Home. Check out rowbyrowexperience.com to see a list of participating

stores. They are listed by state and there are

several in our area. It lasts from June through

September. The quilt club is working on these and

our own we have designed. Come join the fun! Mark

your calendars for Aug. 15 at 6:30.

Tip of the month: Design your own themed quilt

around special people or events. They make great

gifts.
