Abstract:
The project understands the different types of vulnerabilities targeted on a layer 2
network infrastructure like STP manipulation, ARP cache poisoning, Cam
flooding, mac-spoofing etc. Custom penetration testing scripts are developed with
Scapy to simulate the attacks. Defense mechanisms are recommended for every
attack.
Title: Perimeter router testing for IP spoofing attacks based on private IP
addresses
Abstract:
Perimeter routers of an organization are exposed to the internet. Private IP
addresses are not to be used on the internet. Some IP spoofing attacks use private
IP addresses in the source address in the IP packet. The project aims to simulate
custom IP packets with private IP addresses, as specified in the RFC
http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc1597.txt for testing perimeter routers. The
appropriate access control lists on Cisco routers to block these IP packets are
understood.
