The designers of the ancient Egyptian civilization are thought to have worked intuitively, recognising what looked to be harmonious and balanced, thereby discovering the mathematical golden number 1 : 1.618 for ratio and proportion. All future generations of designers adopted this discovery.

The mysterious symbolism of the ancient world has been presented to us in a form which we also respond to intuitively with our heart. As you browse through these pages you will see that the Art Deco of Cartier for instance is a reworking of Egyptian geometric patterns. German engineering is elegant engineering. As you contemplate the Lamy dialog 3 you see smooth threads, polished internal sections and parts as well as dampened movements.

From the knurled grip to the rotating half spheroid that acts as a seal on the nib end the pen exceeds expectations — the feeling of no cut corners comes on strong. This writing instrument is user friendly and also an object lesson in modern design.

Lowercase Letters were later formed using the lower half of the Capital Letters.

!e key to fast legible handwriting is separation of letters with the spacing stroke.

For cursive writing add a joining element to separate the letters.

To ensure letters are separated, always start and "nish with up-stroke reaching X-Height.
