Day 1Overnight flight to IndiaBoard your overnight flight to Delhi.

Day 2DelhiArrive in Delhi in the evening.

Day 3DelhiBegin your adventure with a rickshaw tour of Old Delhi past colourful bazaars, sacred temples and colonial monuments. Visit Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, the Humayun’s Tomb and the Gandhi Memorial.

Day 4DelhiSpend the morning with local school children and take part in a cultural exchange at Deepalaya School.

In the afternoon, visit the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple, the most prominent Sikh Temple in Delhi. Its pond is considered holy by Sikhs.

In the early evening, meet with eminent members of Indian society to discuss issues of modern civilization followed by a special dinner.

Day 5AgraToday, travel to Agra and visit the world famous UNESCO World Heritage site, the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After your visit, get a demonstration of the ancient and dying craft of marble inlay work that was used to decorate the Taj Mahal by local artisan artists.

This evening, enjoy the grand live performance of Mohabbat-e-Taj, based on the love story that inspired Shah Jahan to build the Taj Mahal.

Day 6AgraVisit the Agra Fort in the morning, a majestic fort built in 1565 that hides a beautiful paradise inside.

On the way to the Jaipur—the “Pink City”—you’ll explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Fatehpur Sikri, which was once the capital of the Mughal Empire and home to one of India’s largest mosques.

In the evening, enjoy a home-cooked meal with a local family.

Day 7JaipurExplore the monuments of Jaipur’s golden age and travel on elephant back to Amber Fort, a beautiful complex of palaces, halls, pavilions, gardens and temples.

Afterwards, take the chance to explore the city and visit Jantar Mantar the largest of Jai Signh’s five observatories. In the old city, the styles of Rajasthan and Mughal mix in the city Palace, home to an extensive collection of authentic costumes, armor and jewels.

Before returning to your hotel, visit one of the bazaars India is famous for and meet women from the Indian Chamber of Commerce to discuss the promotion of women in business.

In the evening, have the chance to enjoy a cultural dance performance before dinner.

Day 8JodhpurToday you will continue to Jodhpur, the blue city in the heart of the Thar Desert. The Meherangarh Fort is the setting for Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Spend the afternoon exploring the narrow medieval streets and bazaars.

Day 9NarlaiToday, travel takes us into the Aravalli hills to the 17th century village of Narlai. Explore rural Indian life and visit the local Hindu and Jain temples.

Day 10NarlaiClimb to the top of the hill and admire the colossal statute of the elephant guarding the village. Later, learn how to design amulets and visit a local school. The children may even teach you a few words of Hindi!

This evening, there is a very special dinner in the jungle. Brought to life by dimly lit oil lamps, you will experience a traditional Indian dinner.

Day 11RanakpurStart the morning with a yoga session before travelling to Ranakpur. Here you will visit the Jain temple, a magnificent marble complex. 1444 pillars support 29 halls and all are adorned with carved figures, no two alike.

Overnight stay in Udaipur, known as the “City of Sunrise”.

Day 12

UdaipurExplore the city in the heart of Rajasthan with a full-day guide. Visit the historic City Palace, towering high over the Lake Pichola. In the afternoon, you will cruise over the lake for a unique view of the city.

You will also visit the Jagdish temple, which houses a black stone image of Lord Vishnu.

Day 13VaranasiFly from Udaipur to Varanasi, the most important pilgrimage destination for Hindus. Once known as Benares, it is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Explore the city with a guide and make your way through the most famous narrow and winding lanes.

End your evening at the River Ganges to witness the Aarti Ceremony, part of the evening puja (prayers) in which oil lamps are offered to Mother Ganges as thanks.

Day 14DepartureIn the morning, cruise on the Ganges river to the bathing ghats (steps) from which pilgrims step into the river, believing it will rid them of all sins.

Afterwards you will visit the buried city of Sarnath near Varanasi, which is where Buddha delivered his first sermon.

In the afternoon you will travel to Delhi for your flight home.
