Protected amino acids are pre-packaged with equimolaramounts of dry activator (e.g. HBTU) in a specially designedvial*. The dry mixture is shelf-stable for years. Upon additionof solvent to the vial, activation takes place immediately. Theactive HOBT-ester is quickly transferred to the reaction vesseland a highly efficient coupling ensues.

The PS-3 takes advantage of this amino acid delivery method bydrastically reducing the number of hardware componentsrequired for automated synthesis. The result is an easy to use,robust, and effective instrument for peptide chemistry. Settingup a synthesis takes just minutes. Performance equals orexceeds that of systems costing many times more.
