Perfect Tenses

PERFECT TENSES

The three perfect days in English, are the three

tenses showing actions already completed. (The

Perfecto word literally means "completely done")

They are composed of the verb Have (and have) +

a participle.

PRESENT PERFECT.

Present Perfect: Action is completed with respect

to this.

I have eaten chocolate. (affirmative)

I have not eaten chocolate. (Negative)

have you had breakfast?(interrogative)

PAST PERFECT.

The action is completed in the past.

I had eaten chocolate. (affirmative)

I had not eaten chocolate. (negative)

you had eaten the pizza? (interrogative)

FUTURE PERFECT.

The action is completed for the future.

I will have eaten chocolate. (affirmative)

I will have currently eaten chocolate. (Negative)

you will have eaten pizza? (interrogative)
