The Kalmar DCT offers a safe container handling with a high level of cost-efficiency together with Kalmar's renowned quality.Kalmar DCT80–90 for single stacking of empty containers, is a well equipped range of high performance trucks with great stability to boost your productivity. The DCT range has powerful drive lines from Volvo and Cummins, based on modern and clean 6-inline high torque diesel engines. Automatic transmissions with reverse protection comes as standard. Additional options are available to meet various customer needs and demands.

The DCT80-90 is a high quality machine that allows you to move as many units as possible in the shortest amount of time in the most profitable way. In order to get the optimum balance of economy, lifting height and performance for each client, Kalmar offers a wide range of empty container handlers. As for all Kalmar machines safety is a key factor. The DCT80-90 can provide the best everyday performance and at the same time reassure the safety of the personnel.

High performanceand great stability

Reliable operationThe components are well known and are often found in other Kalmar machines and have therefore been tested through an extended time and can provide the highest possible reliability.

The design of the chassis, mast and spreader has resulted in a machine with very good dimensional, stability and operational characteristics. These combined allow the operator to focus on the task instead of the management of the machine.Additionally, we have ensured that every single detail, component and system have been selected and manufactured to provide the highest possible reliability. When we deliver the machine we want to make sure that all aspects are factored in. Once produced all machines go through an extensive testing programme before they leave the factory in order to secure a high level of reliability.

Well-proven drive shaft, transmission system, brakes and other power train units and components are use. For instance the electronically controlled gearbox allows comfortable, efficient and safe driving at all speeds as well as operating the lifting quipment with high precision. The hydraulic system is equipped with oil cooler and can cope even in the toughest environment conditions.

AttachmentDCT80–90 is equipped with twistlock attachments. The twistlock attachment has mobility in each twistlock, which enables easy and fast leveling. This gives a simpler construction which offers increased reliability and easier servicing. The locking and unlocking procedure is made easier through individual monitoring of the twistlocks.

SafetyA skilled driver becomes one with his machine learning to manoeuvre it down to the nearest millimetre. Total familiarity with a machine means high productivity. But fundamentally, it’s also a matter of safety for personnel, machine and goods alike. The cabin on the Kalmar DCT has been designed with the driver in mind. The Spirit Delta cabin offers an excellent view in all directions and the mast and attachment have been designed not to block the operator’s field of vision. The well placed working lights allow excellent visibility in dark conditions. All of which contributes to high safety and improved productivity.

QualityThe DCT80–90 is a quality machine, optimized for empty container handling. The components are familiar and are often found in other Kalmar machines as well. The mast and other critical components have been developed, optimised and simulated on computers. This means that even on the drawing board we could predict the kinds of strain the machine would have to cope with during its tough working life. And once produced they have been tested in their real environment, so you can rest assured they can withstand extreme use. Low operation costsIt is very important that your machines are operational and productive as much of the time as possible. Without unexpected stoppages, with minimum downtime for preventive maintenance and effective filtering of the hydraulic oil means lower costs for oil changes. Efficient driving thanks to high manoeuvrability also reduce fuel consumption. All of which helps keep running costs down. So, good profitability is about factoring in all the costs associated with owning or leasing a machine. With the Kalmar DCT you can keep operation costs low at all time. Easy maintenancePerforming daily inspections and regular service just takes a few minutes. All daily inspections and service checkpoints are easy accessible at ground level and from the side of the machine.

Reliable and safe handling of empty containers.

The goal when developing the Spirit Delta cabin has been to assure the driver the best conceivable safety, ergonomics and visibility.

Sound and vibrationThe cabin is separately suspended and isolated from the frame with powerful rubber dampers. Effective shock absorption minimises vibrations. The cabin is fitted with insulation material both inside and out. The maximum noise level inside the cabin is 72 dB (A) measured according to EN12053.

ErgonomicsControls and instruments are intuitively positioned and work the way a driver would expect. Search lights in the buttons and switches make them easy to identifyand use, even in darkness.

In the centre above the steering wheel is a display showing operating information, warning messages, error codes etc. To the left of the display is the panel for warning and indication lamps. The driver’s seat and control joystick for the lifting functions can be adjusted to the optimum individual driving position.

The pedals are designed for high comfort, with a hanging accelerator. The internal dimensions are otherwise generous, offering an open floor space.

ClimateA standard air cooling system provides a good cooling effect, even in extremely high temperatures. Additionally you can add an electronic climate control system with filters for fresh air and re-circulation and pollen filters.

No machine is better than its driver
