Dear Traveling Friend,

People always ask me, “When’s the best time to go to Italy?”

I always say, “Fuori stagione, the Off-Season, from November to April. The rates are low, the crowds are gone and the weather’s fine!”

Take Rome in January. Most days are sunny with an average temperature of 55 degrees. Venice in winter is legendary. Countless poems and paintings have been inspired by its dreamy romance. Naples is always warmed by sunshine, orange groves and the passionate Neapolitans themselves.

And Italy is just “more Italian” during the off-Season. With the summer crowds gone, the easy going rhythm of Italian life comes back. You feel like a native.

Museum lines are shorter, restaurants roll out the red carpet and the finest hotels slash their prices. For a 14-day itinerary, you save over $2000 per couple compared with summer rates!

And with Perillo’s 67 years of experience and buying power, we maximize your savings on airfare, hotels,

meals and the hundreds of other details that go into planning a tour.

Please join us this “Off-Season” – the “In-Season” for those in the know! Booking is as easy as a phone call or a few clicks online. Just have your passport information on hand when you call to book. But please hurry, space is limited and we do sell out fast!

Call Toll Free 1-800-431-1515 or visit us at www.PerilloTours.com or see your travel agent.

Buon viaggio!

P.S. Did you know that Perillo can now customize your Italy vacation? Whether it’s 2 people or 40 people, our Italy experts can plan the perfect independent holiday for you, your friends, family, church, club or business group.

that rained down from Mt. Vesuvius, you’ll see the tragic fossils of the people attempting to escape with their children and dogs. And many of the streets, homes and stores are perfectly intact.

Later this afternoon, we sail back in time for dinner at a great Neopolitan restaurant with the fine wines of Campania Region. BB, D

DAY 7 - Thursday Sorrento ➤ Florence ➤ Dinner in Hotel This morning we’re off to Florence via the Highway of the Sun. As we traverse thegently rolling countryside to the capital of Tuscany, we’re reminded of the geniuses who traveled this very path long before us - Dante. Da Vinci. Michelangelo. Galileo. Botticelli. It reads like a “Who’s Who” of brilliance. Maybe some will rub off!

Tonight, we’ll relax with our friends for dinner and wine at our hotel. BB, D

DAY 8 - Friday Florence ➤ Excursion to Venice ➤ Special Venetian Lunch ➤ Florence The Grand Canal is not too far from Florence. Should we? Why not! Andiamo a Venezia!

There is no normal life in Venice. Here, everything and everyone floats. One floats luxuriously with such a sense of freedom, never tormented by traffic or even the sound of a horn.

Your guide will show you all the sights – St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica and the Bridge of Sighs. Just around the corner from St. Mark’s Square, we’ll enjoy a special lunch in a town renowned for its seafood specialties.

This evening we return to Florence for dinner on our own. BB, L

DAY 9 - Saturday Florence ➤ City Sightseeing Including ‘The David’ ➤ Dinner Out TonightFlorence - the fountainhead of the Renaissance, awaits our inspection!

We follow the medieval streets to the most striking square in Florence, Piazza della Signoria, home of Santa Croce Church, Michelangelo’s final resting place.

“Breathtaking” is the only word to describe one’s first view of Michelangelo’s David. Yes, it’s quite large and detailed. But the real magic is in how Michelangelo transformed a lifeless rock into a man - full of pride, wary of his adversary, yet quietly confident. All with just a hammer and chisel!

Our last night together will be at a popular Florentine restaurant with great Tuscan wines. No tears! You’ll exchange email addresses with your new friends and make plans for the future. How about we all meet again on another Perillo Tour to Hawaii! BB, D

DAY 7 - Tuesday Siena ➤ Cortona ➤ Torgiano ➤ Dinner in Hotel

This morning we head for Torgiano in Umbria, the “Green Heart of Italy.” Enroute to Torgiano, we will stop in Cortona, a very interesting

Tuscan Medieval town which was made famous by Frances Mayes book: Under the Tuscan Sun. Cortona was an Etruscan town that today offers many important remains: the bronze lamp from the 5th century BC, the outer walls and the majestic tombs of noble families.Next, we proceed to Torgiano, a quaint village surrounded by vineyards, where time seems to stand still. Our home will be the charming 5-Star Deluxe, Le Tre Vaselle, with the feel of a fine country manor.

Tonight we enjoy a wine tasting and dinner in the hotel. BB, D

DAY 8 - Wednesday Torgiano ➤ Assisi ➤ Perugia ➤ Sienna ➤ Dinner Out TonightThis morning we’ll visit the home of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of Italy. Here we visit the massive Basilica of San Francesco, rising majestically on gracefully arched supports. While the Basilica was partially damaged by the earthquake of 1997, its restoration is complete and the result – stunning!

Next, we go to Perugia, the capital of Umbria. Perugia is one of Italy’s best-preserved hill towns with many museums and churches, and is also home to the famous Perugina chocolates.

Tonight we’ll enjoy a great local dining experience in a local restaurant. BB, D

DAY 9 - Thursday Torgiano ➤ Rome City Sightseeing ➤ Rome ➤ Dinner in HotelToday, we head south to Rome. We will enjoy a panoramic city tour viewing Largo Argentina - where Julius Caesar met his fate at the hands of Brutus. See the most important of the Seven Hills of Rome, the Capitoline - home of Jupiter, Marcello’s theatre and the Jewish Ghetto. We are awed by the view of the ancient Imperial Palaces atop the Palatine Hill overlooking the Circus Maximus where the rape of the Sabines occurred. We’re back on foot to view the Arch of Titus and one of the best preserved Roman structures - the Arch of Constantine. You’ll almost hear the roar of the lions as we enter the Coliseum and imagine the brutal entertainment of the Romans. Next we view the Roman Forum, Trajan’s Column and the astonishing “Wedding Cake,” monument to Victor Emmanuel in Piazza Venezia.

Tonight, we relax and enjoy a delicious dinner in the hotel. BB, D

DAY 10 - Friday Rome ➤ Imperial Rome Sightseeing ➤ Vatican Museum ➤ St Peter’s BasilicaThis morning, after breakfast, we visit the Vatican Museums, a group of impressive edifices with hundreds of rooms, halls, galleries, libraries and chapels overflowing with art treasures; the most beautiful of which is the overwhelming Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s masterpiece. Next we enter the largest church in Christendom – St. Peter’s Basilica. We marvel at Michelangelo’s Pietà and Bernini’s amazing bronze canopy. View Castel

St. Angelo and the Court of Justice.

After lunch on your own, you have time to yourself to do some last minute shopping for souvenirs!

Tonight dinner on your own. BB

DAY 11 - Saturday Rome ➤ Roman Hill Towns ➤ Rome ➤ Dinner OutToday, we venture out to the Castelli Romani, the wine-producing hill-towns to the southeast of Rome. Housed in an early-19th century building in one of the most exclusive areas of Rome, a new and supremely elegant Rose Garden Palace takes its name from the delightful rose garden on its grounds. The tall pine trees of Villa Borghese, the Spanish Steps, the stylish shops on via Condotti, the fashionable bars of via Veneto, the Tritone and Mosè fountains, the baroque churches, and the masterpieces on display in the Borghese Gallery, are all within easy walking distance from this Superior 4-star Rome hotel.

For those guests who love outdoor activities, we can suggest several biking itineraries in the nearby Villa Borghese by the fountains, the lake, and the numerous works of art.

The hotel staff will be pleased to organize guided tours, visits to artists’ studios, take care of bookings for sport and cultural events, give information regarding the entertainment events held in the city, concerts, art exhibitions and religious ceremonies. Set in a unique rose garden in the center of Rome, one finds the superb à la carte restaurant Il Roseto offers both fabulous food and excellent service.

YACHT CLUB CRUISEThe MSC Splendida is a magnificent new ship. She has all the latest exciting features – gourmet themed restaurants, sports complex, indoor-outdoor pools, a magnificent theater with top entertainment, and wonderful ports-of-call in the Western Mediterranean.

But that’s not good enough for our Perillo guests! You see, the Splendida carries 3,100 passengers in the main section of the ship. But hidden on the upper deck is a private, wood-paneled “club” that looks and feels exactly like a high-end yacht.

And here’s the best part! CruiseCritic.com calls the MSC Yacht Club cabins, “the best suites at sea.”These are the suites Perillo Tours has reserved for you at the same price, or less, than cabins in the “back of the ship!”

And naturally, you have full access to the facilities throughout the main ship as well, including the restaurants, bars, clubs, casino, swimming pools and theater.

Montserrat with its famous Benedictine Monastery. Or, ask your concierge about catching a Flamenco Show. Ole!

DAY 4 - Monday At SeaNo appointments, no obligations, the day is yours to relax at the spa, linger at lunch, watch a movie in your cabin, or do all three!

DAY 5 - Tuesday La Valletta, MaltaMalta’s tiny capitol, La Valletta, is a WorldHeritage site and nothing short of an open air museum. It is a living experience of Baroque architecture. The city is dotted with quaint cafes and wine bars. Tour the city, relax on the beach, or swim with the dolphins. You’ll quickly fall in love with this little known Mediterranean gem.

DAY 6 - Wednesday Messina, ItalyMessina is a gateway to the best of Sicily. A short distance away is the gorgeous hilltop resort town of Taormina, as well as the majestic (and still active) volcano, Mt. Etna. Or see the charming village of Tindari, home of the “Black Madonna.”

DAY 1 - Friday Flight to GenoaThe excitement begins with an overnight flight to Genoa. Ask about Perillo’s low airfares to Italy. You are also free to book your own flights.

DAY 2 - Saturday Genoa, ItalyBenvenuti in Italia! Whether you purchased your ticket through Perillo, or on your own, we’re happy to pick you up at Genoa’s Cristoforo Colombo Airport at scheduled times for your transfer to our magnificent ship.

A blast of the Splendida’s horn signals the start of our adventure! By now, you’ve had a personal orientation of the Yacht Club and learned the features of your suite. Some of us don’t have butlers at home, so go ahead – have him unpack your bags, shine your shoes and bring you an extra-dry martini. A person could get used to this!

DAY 3 - Sunday BarcelonaThis morning you wake up to the joys ofBarcelona, the grand capital of Catalonia.

You must see the work of her most famous architect – Gaudi. Also of great interest is

As always you can chose to sightsee, shop or just relax.

DAY 7 - Thursday Civitavecchia (Rome)The port of Civitavecchia is about an hour from Rome. We have 11 hours in port giving you plenty of time to explore the Eternal City. {Need help pronouncing the port? We did too! Chee-vee-ta-VE-kia.)

DAY 8 - Friday Marseille, FranceCézanne, Braque, Derain, Dufy and Marquet have all lived in France’s “second city” and been inspired by its beauties. Explore Marseille itself or visit the seaside gem, Cassis, a quieter version of St. Tropez. Also close by is Avignon, so lovely that Pope Clement V spent his entire papacy there.

DAY 9 - Saturday GenoaThis morning it’s farewell to our new cruising friends, our Yacht Club staff, and yes, sadly our butler!

To soften the blow, we’ll whisk you from the pier to downtown Genoa for a relaxing evening at the NH Marina Hotel.

After check-in take a walk to the Genoa Aquarium, the 2nd largest in Europe. The quaint seaside village of Portofino is just a 1/2 hour away. Or head to “Piazza dei Ferrari,” the historical center of Genoa.

This evening dinner is on your own.
