Many people does not fully understand what this disorder actually is.
Dissociative identity disorder not only brings suffering to the patients, but to everyone around them and others.

What is dissociative identity disorder?

What is it?
It is also known as the multiple personality disorder
Many personalities within a single body. The personalities take over the body
occasionally and the person appears to be someone else.
“splitting” minds. The personality splits up and makes alters
Cause & Treatment?
Severe trauma attack. Studies show that many find themselves
with DID after a trauma attack. Child abuse
Wanting to escape from reality. Therapist
Seek help by going to a therapist who would help the patient go through a session.
What’s the difference?
Physical properties. Weak or strong?
Age, gender, race. Female or male? Age 6-90?
Each personality have their distinct characterist. Glasses? Left or right handed?
Physical Pain
Drug addict or alcoholic? The personalities could vary.
Sleep disorder May switch one personality to another
but the body does not actually rest. Suicidal attempts
Lose sense of reality.
Mental Sufferings
Sleep apnea Lack of sleep
Amnesia Memory lose, cannot recall information
Identity confusion Random emotions and feelings.
Physical Pain ver. Family
Difficulties Responsible to take care of the paitient
Controlling the person Have to watch over the person and make
sure he/she is not doing anything dangerous
Meeting the “new” son/daughter When new personalities emerge, he/she
may not recognize you and act aggressively towards you.
Mental Sufferings ver. Family
Heart breaking Knowing that your loved one is in pain
brings pain to yourself too. Sleep apnea
Taking care of the patient Financial support
To seek help and afford medication
Now, the community.
Conflict to society Criminal personality.
Violent and aggressive characters Varity in the alters.
Confusion to the police Different physical properties.
So, can it be cured?
Unfortunately, there is no cure. Seek psychiatrist. Cases of patients that are in control
of body but not fully cured. Other disorders could appear due to
DID. It’s a long process.
Estimated around 5 years.
Do something!
Not much money has put into the research for this disorder. Only a small percentage of people has
it. However, it has a big impact on the
patient, their families and even their communities.
Get to know the disorder and not let it ruin the lives of the innocents.
