Q1. READING
A Read the passage carefully:
Hummingbirds are the smallest birds in the world. Some are less than three inches long.
They get their name from the sound that their wings make. While in flight, they can beat
their wings sixty to two hundred times per second. This makes a buzzing or a whirring
sound. The flight of hummingbirds is amazing to watch. They can fly up, down, forward,
backwards and sideways. They can even stop in mid air. Their feet are not very strong
because they fly so much. They barely walk at all. But they do perch when they sit on
flowers to drink nectar. Hummingbirds usually feed on insects and nectar.
The majority of this species live in the tropical areas, but several species also breed in
temperate areas. Earlier, hummingbirds were killed for their feathers. Today, habitat loss
and destruction are the hummingbird’s main threats.
