Set Up Information Facing spray machine open A and B regulator located

on pump by turning plastic gray lever handle ½ turn from left to right.

Allow pressure to build in regulator.

Use the red line on regulator gauge to determine pressure setting.

Adjust pressure setting on regulator by turning the gray knob on regulator left (up) or right (down) to adjust pressure higher or lower to desired setting.

Start Up Start Spray Machine and let material circulate. Make sure

both A and B sides are mixed well before spraying.

Spray Pattern

Take spray gun and in a container spray A side only to make sure you have a good spray fan and do same with B side.

Then spray both A and B side simultaneously making sure that both the A and B side spray fans come together approximately 12-18 inches from end of spray wand tips.

Spray Application Practise

Beginning at the lowest point of substrate, start spraying substrate by leading with the A side (emulsion) followed by the B side (calcium chloride) going from right to left covering the desired area and immediately spraying directly back over applied material from left to right to starting point.

Page 22: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

Wands must be perpendicular to substrate

Page 23: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

Feathering at end of spray pattern to avoid ridges in applied membrane

Page 24: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

50% overlap-leading with A side followed by B side from right to left

Page 25: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

Page 26: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

Spray application “WRONG “Too much angle to the Spray pattern

Page 27: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

“Good” Spray Angle 90 Degrees/Perpendicular to the substrate

Page 28: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

Good angle and excellent 50% overlap

Page 29: Perma Training Demonstrations 11 05 09

Building Coverage Start next pass by moving spray gun towards

applicator ½ the width of applied material (point wands at the closest edge of applied material) and start covering 50% of applied material and 50% of substrate leading with A side followed by the B side going from right to left the complete distance of the applied material and immediately spraying directly back over applied material from left to right to starting point.
