Since our last newsletter in the summer of 2013, there has been continued activity along the Line 78 Pipeline Project route, and I want to share some of that information with you. Enbridge spent most of 2013 fine-tuning the routing alternatives, consulting with landowners, elected officials and local communities while maximizing routes that follow existing utility corridors. In addition to our five public open house meetings in early 2013 along the Line 78 pipeline route, we recently held another public open house meeting in Will County, Ill. to update the impacted communities on various routing alternatives that we are studying. Agents from our Land Services team have been working with landowners to negotiate easement agreements, while the engineering team will soon be meeting with county and township road supervisors and engineers to discuss road crossing methods and permit applications. Engineers have also been continuing to assess the proposed route from a constructability standpoint in coordination with landowners. Additionally, our environmental team has been meeting with federal and state regulatory agencies to coordinate the submittal of the necessary permit applications for the Project. Enbridge’s Public and Government Affairs staff and technical leads continue to consult and meet with local, state and federal elected officials along the route to keep them informed, as well as participate regularly in County, Village and Township board meetings when requested. Pipe yard construction is anticipated to begin this spring in Hercher, Ill. For future pipe delivery, notification letters will be made to affected communities and elected officials. Local school districts will be updated and the pipe delivery company will communicate with the districts in order to ensure the safe delivery of pipe in these communities. Contractor selections will begin in the summer of 2014 in anticipation of the spring 2015 construction start for the pipeline. Please watch for updates on the Line 78 website at www.enbridge.com/ Line78PipelineProject. As always, your comments are welcome. We will continue to communicate with you as the Line 78 Pipeline Project continues to move through the design and permitting processes. You can reach the project team via email at [email protected] or by calling 1-855-714-8372. Thank you for your cooperation and input as we move forward on this project.

Engineers have also been continuing

to assess the proposed route from a constructability standpoint in coordination with landowners.

Local school districts will be updated and the pipe delivery company will communicate with the districts in order to ensure the safe delivery

of pipe in these communities.Contractor selections will begin in the summer of 2014 in anticipation of the spring 2015 construction start for the pipeline. Please watch for updates on the Line 78 website at www.enbridge.com/Line78PipelineProject.
