FISHER‘N’CHIPS Today our visitors are Penryn, who are currently top
of the league they have assembled a strong squad,
but I am sure our lads will give a spirited display.
Despite losing many of our players through one
reason or another, and suffering a lot of long term
injuries instead of chasing other players I took the
decision a few weeks ago to only accept those who
want to play for the club. This has meant that our
second team has provided us with players, to this end
Mark has still managed to do well in both his league
and junior cup.
I am always mindful of the five senior games rule,
which means that after five senior games a player
has to be reinstated and can only be done twice in a
season. Although I feel this is an antiquated rule and
I believe only applies in Cornish football, we have to
abide by the rules.
Thanks must go to Leonard Mead and his helpers for
the work put in to get today’s match on.

‘Hello this is my new section called Kempy’s Korner, with a K. Welcome to all
my friends from penryn who are a very local club who decided to go into senior
football long after the village club, but without the sponsorship that is getting
very hard to accrue, it is harder to keep it going (with the added costs of referees
and affiliation fees etc ) Our local bakery went bust back in 1897. We all need
money to keep going. It costs around £200 a week to keep a village club going
so please support the well as you read this with your donation in the collection
box this afternoon!! Thank you for your generosity!’’
My prediction: 2-2 ( Rosy and Gavin)

Penryn Athletic Reserves come in to today’s game against Perranwell at the top of the Jollys Combination League by 7 points. They have only lost twice this season with the most recent being 2 weeks ago against local rivals Falmouth Town Reserves.
The inconstant Perranwell will have to keep their eye on inform duo Wade Brown and Jason Roberts if they are hoping to cause an upset against the league leaders.
