How I travel the world for 3 years

And manage to make money while doing it!

Where I have been

•Around 1 year in most countries in Europe•6 months in Brasil•3 months in Alaska•2 months in Canada•Around 2 months in the U.S.•3 months in North-east Thailand•3 months in Australia•6 months in Kuala Lumpur•...

What I have done

• Hitchhike to Nordkapp, Norway

• Volunteer for couchsurfing.org in Alaska

• Hitchhike 40,000 Km

• Seen live bears, whales, sharks, snakes and much more

• Vipassana meditation retreat

• Scuba dive some of the best reefs on the planet

• NYE in Sydney and Rio de Janeiro

Pre-travels (how to cut off your left arm to chase your dreams)

Year 1: traveling on borrowed money (Lots of fun, very bad idea!)

Year 2: Started my very first

own company (on an ultra-

budget!)

Year 3: Getting a bit smarter (and still messing up all the time ;) )

What I’ve learned

• People are generally good

• The media lies

• Germophobia is overrated

• Humanity is in danger (not the planet!)

• Religion is good, provided not taken too seriously

• You don’t need a lot of stuff

• Western society is not the best (or the happiest)

• Traveling is not expensive

• Many people have dreams but are afraid to follow them

• You learn as much about your own on the road as on other cultures

Bad ideas

•Work remotely for a non-virtual company•Hitchhike 4000km to Finland to see some friends in the middle of the winter (-12C)

•Listening to people who tell you something is not possible or a bad idea without experience•Hitchhike in Alaska

•Walk around in a suburb at night in the outskirts of Riga•Break your ankle 7km deep into a canyon outside Las Vegas

Good ideas• Give away everything

you own!• Live on no budget• Seek out adventure,

never say no!• Approach everything

from the positive side• Hitchhike & Couchsurf• Embrace life!• Sacrifice safety and

stability in order to reach your dreams!

Nothing is impossible!
