Personal Mission Exercise

How to Easily Set and Achieve

Your Personal and Financial Goals

Home Grown Engineers

This is the Personal Mission document that is accessible on AshleyBirkhold.com

Your goals are what drive you. They reflect your desires. Think about what makes you happy and where you want to be in life. You will use short term and long term goals to keep your momentum going. Start a new sheet every Month. Each sheet will bring you closer to your ultimate goal. You will achieve your goals.

Let’s start at the top by filling in your name here.

Hopefully you have taken some time and really thought about what you want to accomplish. There are no right or wrong

answers when it comes to setting a goal, but think it through.

It’s extremely important to have a reasonable time frame set to complete your goals. To keep you motivated, this needs to be

realistic, but at the same time challenging.

refer 10 people to my business.

In this example my goal is to refer 10 people to my business, and to do so by January 1st, 2011. Now Let’s look at what I need to

do to get there.

In order to complete your goals without becoming completely overwhelmed, you need to break them down into bite size goals.

Here are two sections that you can use to manage them.

In the Monthly Goals section, think about the first steps that need to be accomplished in order to achieve your Personal Mission. These are larger

goals but in easier to swallow bites. Remember, your goals need to be challenging, but also achievable .

You don’t have to fill every line. Use what you feel is necessary.

Just as you did with the last section, you will write down even smaller weekly goals to achieve a larger monthly goal. These

goals should be strictly written with the Monthly Goals in mind.

You don’t have to fill every line. Use what you feel is necessary

As you can see, your goals, even the big ones, are easily achievable when you manage your time. So…

Work Smarter, Not Harder.

Your resources are where you pull your inspiration, knowledge, and training . It’s important to keep these listed . Some of them may change from month to month, and others may stay on your

list until yourPersonal Mission is complete.

An affirmation is the declaration that something exists or is true. When you consistently repeat statements that are spoken with real emotion over and over again, your subconscious mind eventually

begins to know them as the truth. This leads your mind to naturally think and make decisions in a way that steers you towards your goals.

The human subconscious mind is most open to influence while it is in the Alpha and Theta states. These states are most commonly reached when the mind is slowing down for sleep or just waking up. That’s why saying your affirmations just before bed and upon waking up are recommended.

A signature may not seem to be that crucial, but it certainly is. Think of this form as a contract that you have with yourself. Without a signature, a contract is worthless. If your going to do this right, sign your Personal

Mission and make the commitment official.

Here is the complete example of a Personal Mission… so now what?

1.) Place this Mission somewhere you will see it every day. At your desk, in your bathroom, in your car, etc.

2.) Check each weekly and monthly goal off when it is complete, and transfer any unfinished goals to next month’s mission form.

3.) Be consistent with setting this form up every month . Set a reminder on your calendar and stay with it.

4.) Be willing to accept help from others, and use your resources, that’s what they are there for.
