The definition of social responsibility for me comes from wanting to improve life in the world for my son. He defines responsibility. Period. Nevertheless I always believed that whatever we do has impact and implication beyond simple acts.

Even though I had very little idea of what was corporate social responsibility before taking this course. I liked to think that I was a socially responsible person in a broader context, but the concepts of fairness, justice and “environmental” footprint gained another dimension now and it is my goal to apply them on a broader sense to my everyday life. I guess this is how many people become socially responsible – understanding the impact of their actions on others.

The use SR concepts in my life apply to everyday small things. Conservation, fairness, philanthropy and again the belief that we have impact on just about everything we touch. The goal is to make this impact positive at all times and turn risks into opportunities.

I also want to bring what I learned in this class to every workplace I encounter in the future. Besides being the right thing to do, it will give me some strategic competitive advantage among peers and supervisors.

This course was one of the best learning experiences for me at Haas. Besides the terrific consulting experience, I learned a lot about myself and what matters to me.
