Welcome to Peter and Alissa’s wedding registry…with a difference. We love gifts, sure, but the women and children of the Democratic Republic of Congo need them more.

Alissa and her cameras have traveled to over 35 African nations. People have been her passion, and in 2007, she founded Exposing Hope to use her photography to support of her subjects.

Much of Exposing Hope’s work has been in the DRC, where with partner, HEAL Africa, Exposing Hope has funded the construction of and staffing/programming in five safe houses for survivors of sexual violence.

Safe Houses are secure locations that provide women with medical help and counseling as well as skills training to help them rebuild their lives.
