Lady Buffs Basketball Camp a Big Success

Friday, June 18th, was the last day of the week lon, Petersburl Lady Buffs Basket ball Camp. Thirty-two enthusiastic athletes, ranging in age , from 8 to 14, participated in the camp.

Coaches Jim Fillingini. Steve Rodsen and Judy Allmon worked the sirls on shootinl and ball handling skills in addition to basic defense and offense. The sirla competed daily in shootinl events and conducted their own 3-on-3 tournament.

Burial was in . Peters bur. Cemetery under. direction of Rix Funeral Directors of Lubbock.

Mrs. Gartin died Friday, June 18 in Methodist Hospital in LUbbock.

She was born in Van Zandt County and moved to Peters'".r. in 1942. She was a farmer, home­maker and a member of the

Church of Christ. A son, Billy Perry Combs. died in September ,1982.

Survivors include a son, James ' Combs Jr. of Lubbock; two brothers, Jessie Rasco of Fruit­ville and William Riley of Dallas; eiaht .randchildren~ and 13 p'andchildren.

Pallbearers were David G. Combs, Blake Lyde, Don Heai. A.L. Mosley, Terry Mulanax and . R.I. Cole. '
