Inserting the Battery Module in the Receiver
Remove the Battery Module From the Receiver - Remove the battery module from the receiver by holding the receiver with the LED indicator light facing towards you. While holding the receiver with your left hand, with a small coin, slide the latch to the right unlocking the battery module. Now remove the module by placing your thumb on the small semi-circular piece and lifting up.
Inserting the Batteries Into the Battery Module – With two (2) 3-volt Lithium batteries, insert them into the battery module according to the polarity markings shown on the module
Inserting the Battery Module Back Into the Receiver – With the batteries placed in the battery module, place the right end of the battery module, at an angle, back into the receiver.
UL-275 Receiver
The UL-275 Receiver contains electronics to detect the magnetic field carried by the containment boundary wire, translates them, and delivers an electrical stimulation. The electrical correction is delivered through two contact probes that touch the dog’s neck.
There are two sets of contact probes, long and medium, that can be used on your receiver to provide the correction. The long contact probes are used on dogs with very long hair.
The UL-275 Receiver is enclosed in a waterproof case and is mounted to a polypropylene collar. The collar will fit a dog with a neck size varying from 9 to 22 inches.

Make sure the Minus sign if facing towards you. Press the left end of the battery module into the battery compartment until it is seated against the top case.
Securing the Battery Module to the Receiver – Reverse the procedure that was used to remove the battery module (receiver with the light facing towards you), with a small coin, slide the latch to the left locking the battery module to receiver.
The UL-275 Receiver contains a LED indicator light. The light acts as a low battery light and confirms which one of five correction levels are set.
The receiver is equipped with memory backup. After you replace the batteries in the receiver, you will not have to reset the correction level. The LED indicator light will flash for the correction level last set.

Testing the System
With the magnetic key chain that is supplied with you kit, place the magnet portion of the key chain next to the white dot of the receiver.
Once the LED indicator light is on, remove the magnet and count the number of flashes. In order to increment to the next correction level, simply place the magnet on the DOT and remove within 5 seconds from the last flash of the light. Please refer to the “Receiver LED Function and Response” table to choose the correction that best fits your pet.

Once the correction level has been set, place the test light on the receiver. Walk towards the boundary wire until the test light begins to flash. This will indicate the system is functioning properly.
If the test light did not flash, check the battery installation, and be sure that the probes are secured hand tight. Once the system has been verified to function properly, remove the test light from the receiver.
Placing the Receiver on Your Dog
When placing the receiver on your dog’s neck, make sure it is positioned where the two contact
probes are touching your dog’s skin. However, they are not to be so tight that they are uncomfortable to your pet. If your dog’s hair is so thick that it keeps the contact probes from touching your dog’s skin, you might want to use the longer probes that are supplied with your system. If trimming the hair does not work, try increasing the correction level.NOTE: The collar is properly positioned when you are able to get one finger between the contact probes and your pet’s skin.
CAUTION: Leaving the collar on too tight and for long periods of time can cause, Pressure Necrosis. This is a condition where the skin deteriorates over time. To prevent this, check and clean your pet’s neck regularly. If a rash or sore forms, remove the receiver for a few days. When replacing the collar, make sure both the contact probes and your dog’s neck are clean.
CAUTION: The danger of explosion exists if the battery is replaced incor-rectly. Use only the same or equivalent battery as described in this manual. Take dead batteries to a household hazardous waste collection program in your area or give to a licensed hazardous waste contractor.
