    The Basic Statisticson Indian Petroleum&Natural Gas, 2011-12 is the

    Seventeenthinaseries thatwasfirstreleased in1996.Itisaskeletalforerunnerof the

    detailedannualStatisticsBulletinpublishedregularlyaftertheendofthefinancialyear.

    BasicStatisticsdatafortheyear2011-12is,ofcourse,provisionalandsubjecttorevision

    duetofinalreconciliationofthedatabythesourceagencies.

    The Bulletin is based on data collected from the various Ministries and

    DepartmentsoftheGovernmentofIndia,thePublicandPrivateSectorCompaniesunder

    thepurviewofthisMinistryandPetroleumPlanningandAnalysisCell.Weappreciate
