France. This is one of many images that made it to many
newspapers/sports magazines around the globe.

13. Earthrise 1968, Captured on Christmas Eve, 1968, near the end
of one of the most tumultuous years U.S.space explorations had ever
known.The Earthrise photograph inspired contemplation of our
fragile existence and our place in the cosmos. Bill Anders of the
Apollo 8 mission was the one who took thispicture.This iconic color
photograph later graced a U.S. postage stamp and several book
covers.
