Ministry Fair The Stewardship Committee thanks all those who participated in the planning and

preparation for the parish’s very successful Ministry Fair on June 5th. Your efforts were reflected in the faith-filled displays and affirmed by the positive comments of the many parishioners who attended. It is evident that God has blessed our parish with many special people who are willing to share the joy that our ministries have added to their lives.

In addition to thanking leaders and members of parish ministries who volunteered their time and talent during this past weekend, we are grateful to Mark Lucas for setting up Jubilee Hall so efficiently and to the Youth Group members, Kylie Starrs and Natasha Szulist, who provided a colouring corner for children. Gloria Villamil generously contributed the lead up posters. The beautiful banners coordinated by Lucie Desbiens and created by students at St. Joseph school topped off our event perfectly! We appreciate the work of Judy and Doug Freiburger in taking photos of the event. Photos of the banners and the event can be found on the parish website.

Special thanks go to Mairead and Joe Keely for their talent and hard work in pulling off a barbeque lunch that was enjoyed by all, and to their wonderful helpers in the kitchen on Saturday and Sunday: Yvonne Keenan, Sue Dent and Connie Vercillo, who were assisted by Gerry MacNeil, Ellen McLeod and Carolyne Desbiens.

Courtyard set-up was done by Joe Keely and Gerry MacNeil, ably assisted by Odette and Jim Croft. Barbeque chefs Mike Coughlan and Fern Desbiens used their talents on barbeques kindly provided by James Hilbig, Henry Martin, Lloyd LeBlanc and Deb Jennings. Barbeque gophers were Joe Keely, Sergio Vidotto and Gerry MacNeil. To all of them – we appreciate their time, talent, generosity and good humour. We sincerely apologize if we have forgotten to thank anyone who contributed time and talent in making the fair such a success.

Follow up As important as the Ministry Fair was, even more important is our planning after the event. First, some practical information. Parishioners are encouraged to continue to reflect on possible involvement in one of our parish ministries. To assist with planning for September, please complete your form by June 19th and submit it through the parish office or in the collection basket at Mass. If you did not receive a booklet, the information and form can be found on the parish website or picked up at the parish office. Current leaders and volunteers are reminded to also complete a form. Secondly, we are currently compiling names from the Interest Sheets filled out at the fair, and making sure information is passed along to ministry leaders. Time and Talent Forms are being sorted and recorded as they are submitted, and that information will also be given to leaders.

Convocation of Liturgical Ministers And finally, we invite all those currently involved as, and all those who are interested in becoming: Ushers, Lectors, or Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist to attend the convocations as listed below. Ushers – Wednesday, June 15th, 7:00 p.m. –Jubilee Hall Lectors – Thursday, June 16th, 7:00 p.m. –Jubilee Hall Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist – Thursday, June 23, 7:00 p.m. – Jubilee Hall

We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide us in this parish endeavor! Your Stewardship Committee: Wendy Arscott, Father Franjo, Annemarie Kinsman, Elaine MacNeil, Pat O’Connor, Maureen Rinn, Rosalie Scarlett, and David Starrs.
