History
P. 25
The FLYING PHANTOM 18 is a new generation of foiling catamarans.
The concept is based PHANTOM and Martin Fischer on design work during the past years on foils and the expertise of Franck Cammas and Groupama Sailing Team.
After 3 years of R&D with extensive testing of different foils and rudders configurations: we came up with a combination of "L" shaped foils and "T" shaped rudders, providing pitch and heave stability in full flight but also being competitive in light winds.
The FLYING PHANTOM is made of pre preg carbon, with nomex honey-comb for the hulls providing a super light and stiff platform.
Foiling cats are the future of our sport, offer new sensations and previously unknown performances.

The Flying Phantom is a One Design class with already 100 boats foiling in 20 coun-tries around the world.
With 5 venues around Europe in 2015 and more to come in 2016 the FP Series are gathering amateur and professional sailors on America’s Cup style race course.
The races are completely one design, the Flying Phantoms are racing against each other on a course laid out to offer a reaching start with a clearing mark in the middle, a leeward gate, a windward gate and a reaching finish after rounding the clearing buoy.
Check the schedule of the next events on our website.

The Flying Phantom has been chosen by Roman Hagara and Hans Peter Steinacher for the Red Bull Foiling Generation.
The global sailing series is open to talented sailors aged 16-20 racing the Flying Phantom.
A global sailing series with several venues around the world, looking for the next youth talents from 16 to 20 years old.
The Red Bull Foiling Generation started in 2015 with seven events in Japan, the UK, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Russia and France. The winners of these national competitions will be invited to the world final in late 2016 to compete but not merely for glory and honor.
The format is of knockout races, a new modus for sailing, but one which promises a lot of excitement for both athletes and spectators. With four boats at the start of every race, each distinctly marked with a colour, either, red, yellow, blue or grey. The top two teams automatically advance to the next round, while the losing pair get another shot at qualifying with a lucky loser round. The draw will be further reduced in the quarter-finals and the last four, with the winner in the final crowned national competition winner.

I founded my own sailmaking company in 2003 at the age of 22 with the ambition to be the most innovative brand in the sailmaking industry.
12 years later, PHANTOM INTERNATIONAL is surrounded by some of the best sailors in the world.
All these achievements would not have been possible without them.
