Erik/ Phantom/Angel of Music

• He is the protagonist or main character in the story.

• His name was Eric but people knew him as the Opera ghost.

• He was a man in black clothes who look like a dead man. He had a yellow face, no nose and black holes for

eyes. In other words, he was horrible-looking.

• He was a powerful man and would not hesitate to commit murder he was offended. Despite all these, he

had a genius for building and music (work as composer)

• He was once a famous builder in Persia and helped to build the Opera House. He yearned to be loved and

accepted, and he was ready to sacrifice for love. He was unable to live a normal life because of his

disfigurement and had to live underground to be hidden away from the crowd.

Christine Daaé

• She was an upcoming opera singer who received music lesson from the Phantom (erik)

• She was loved by the Phantom but could not return his love because she was in love with Raoul de Chagny.

• She was young, talented, beautiful, sympathetic and could sing like an angel.

• She was afraid of the Phantom but could not help herself to feel sorry for him at the same time.

• She sympathised with Eric’s dark fate and was ready to sacrifice her freedom in order to save her lover’s life.

Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny

• He was 21 years old, had blue eyes and black hair.

• He came from a rich and noble family in Paris. He had a brother named Philippe.

• He was the heartthrob of many young ladies. But he was in love with Christine since he first met her when she

was 17 years old.

• He was ready to do anything for love and to do everything he could to be with her.

• He tried to rescue Christine from the Phantom and later, ran away with her.
