วธิีการแปะ nicotine patch ‐ 1 cigarette = 1‐3 mg of absorbed nicotine‐ about 50% of loaded nicotine in gum is absorbed
Step 1: 6 weeks • 1 tab q 1‐2 hours
Step 2:3 weeks
• 1 tab q 3‐4 hours
Step 3: 3 weeks
• 1 tab q 6‐8 hours
วธิีเคี้ยว nicotine gum• การเคี้ยวชา้ๆ เป็นระยะสลบักบัการอม (chew-and-park technique) ควรทาํต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลา 30 นาที/เม็ด
• ตอ้งงดการรบัประทานอาหารและการดื่มเครื่องดื่มที่มีความเป็นกรด เชน่ กาแฟ นํ้าสม้ นํ้าอดัลม ไวน์ ยกเวน้นํ้าเปล่า ใน 15 นาทีกอ่น และระหวา่งเคี้ยวนิโคตินชนิดหมากฝรัง่เคี้ยว เพราะจะทาํให ้pH ของนํ้าลายลดลง จนทาํใหก้ารดูดซึมนิโคตินลดลงดว้ย
• ไมค่วรกลืนนํ้าลายระหวา่งเคี้ยวหมากฝรัง่
