The Moon• The moon is the brightest object in the
sky other than the Sun
• The phases are caused by its relative position to the Sun and Earth as it revolves around the Earth
• Position of the moon changes each day
• Goes through all the phases approximately every 28 days
• Blue moon: two full Moons during the same month
Integration • Science: creating the Moon phases using
Oreos
• Math: proportions with the Moon phases
• Social Studies: first mission to the Moon, Neil Armstrong
• ELA: creative writing piece about a mission to the Moon
Integration cont.•Music: songs about the phases of
the Moon, make their own song
•Art: make a moon phase mobile, drawing the Moon phases
•Movement: “Solar dance”, Moon dance, Moon walk
