The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington offers a Ph.D. in the field of RehabilitatioScience. The degree program is designed to be interdisciplinary in nature and focuses on the objectives of increasepsychosocial and physical function in individuals as well as the effects of related social and health care policy. Studentcomplete 100 credit hours of coursework as part of the degree curriculum. Seven of these courses are core courses thaare set up on a quarter credit system for a total of 21 credit hours. These courses include Foundations of RehabilitatioScience, Evidence-Based Rehabilitation, Qualitative and Quantitative Research in Rehabilitation, Technology anDisability, Defining and Measuring Outcomes in Rehabilitation Research, Epidemiological and Health ServiceApproaches to Rehabilitation Research and Motor Control. Students also complete 27 hours of dissertation work and 1
