Halliburton Energy Services, Houston, Texas
Baker Hughes, Houston, Texas
Cidra Inc., Wallingford, CT
The 500 Group Inc. Stamford, CT
Colt Firearms Hartford, CT (subcontract)
Thule Rack Systems, Seymour, CT
Projects completed: Design & Development of a large capacity M4/M16 magazine.
Design & Development of high data capacity 24” “Smart Pig” for pipeline
inspection, crack detection and logging.
Conceptual Design of combined Ski & Snowboard Carrier
Electronic Packaging of Halliburton NMR electronics and accelerometers.
Design of high velocity flow loop for fiber optic (Bragg Fiber Grating) based acoustic flow
sensor test and development.
Design and Development of RF Telemetry Surface Dynamics Measurement System.
Dorr-Oliver Ventures Inc., Milford, Connecticut 1992-1993 Designer - Food, Chemical, & Pharmaceutical Div., Projects & System Div. Responsible for the design of next-generation, high-speed, high-capacity, continuous-feed,
disk decanter centrifuges for the Food, Chemical & Pharmaceutical Division; structural and
mechanical design for fluidized-bed ore roasting facility for the Projects & Systems Division.
Saved $150,000 in tear-down costs on pilot program of new centrifuge by designing oil-jet
lubrication system that eliminated premature spindle bearing failures.
Saved $180 per unit by redesigning centrifuge feed-tube assembly which eliminated vibra-
tion failure and avoided the use of composite feed-tube structure. Teleco Oilfield Services Inc., Meriden, Connecticut 1988-1992 Project Designer -Advanced Development Experimental design of high data-rate acoustic telemetry system in joint research pro-
gram with Sandia National Laboratories. Supervised design and drafting personnel, ma-
chinists, and technicians.
Saved $85,000 in expenses by utilizing and adapting existing hardware and equipment for
mechanical and field testing.
Submitted patent disclosures:
"Method of Measurement and Transmission of Upper Drillstring Dynamic Data
"Improved Thread Form for Tapered Threads"

Sr. Designer Lead design and supervisory responsibility of 3 designers for major programs: Down-hole Rotary Steering Motors and steering tools for improved drilling control and accuracy utilizing hydraulic “push the bit” technology. Designed entire 6.75 dia. tool in-cluding hydraulic vane pump, alternator drive train, control manifold, actuating blades as well as high density electronics packaging. Currently developing 4.75 dia steering tool. High Speed Drilling Motor (U.S. Dept of Energy) for increased rates of penetration. De-signed 2-stage compensated planetary gearbox coupled to hydrodynamic bearings to achieve test speeds up to 10,000 r.p.m. Designed ancillary test equipment Drilling Dynamics Measurement Tool (Halliburton Energy Svcs.) for the measurement of weight on bit, drilling torque and drill string bending, utilizing advanced strain gage and sealing technologies. Directional/Rotation Sensor for the measurement of azimuth and inclination in severe drilling environments. Responsible for the overall electronics packaging effort. Top Drive Dynamics Measurement Tool for measuring drill string torque and tension. U.S. Patent Pub. 8,525,690 B2 “Synchronized Telemetry from a Rotating Element” (2013) Disclosures: “Derived RPM from Bending Data” (2009),“Ferro-Fluid Antenna Element” (2011) “Replaceable Strain Gage Insert” (2014)

Teleco Oilfield Services Inc., Meriden, Connecticut Designer -Research & Development Responsible for the design, research, and development of measurement-while-drilling
tools and equipment for the world's leader in directional drilling and geological evaluation
technology.
Designed and developed Drilling Dynamics Sensor in less than four months by utilizing
existing hardware and technology. Resulting revenue was estimated at $30 to 40 million
over 5 years. This development program superseded two unsuccessful design programs
and inspired an engineering organizational model for future development programs.
Designed Resistivity-Gamma Sensor incorporating cost-effective innovations successfully
used in future sensor designs. LFE Fluids Control Inc., Hamden, Connecticut Product Designer Responsible for design of hydraulic, heat transfer and air conditioning equipment for
military ground vehicles and military aerospace applications (DIVAD, AHIP & Patriot Air
Defense Systems).
Saved $1800-$2200 per unit in machining costs by using near net-shape investment cast-
ing for lightweight airborne cooling unit used in U.S. Army's AHIP Mast-Mounted Sight
(OH-58). Actual unit weight was less than specification. Unit performed to spec at start
up and was designed, manufactured, tested, and shipped in less than 4 months. Dataproducts New England Inc., Wallingford, Connecticut Mechanical Designer Electro-mechanical design and packaging of avionics equipment such as system control-
lers, power supplies, in flight aerial refueling data communications, and navigational light
controllers for military aircraft (A-10, CH-53, F-16, F-18, SH-60, UH-60). Education Bridgeport Engineering Institute, Fairfield, CT, Mech. Eng. Program
University of New Haven, West Haven, CT, Mech. Eng. Program
