With some of the most extensive

R&D facilities in the world,

Philips understands the value

of research and how it can

translate into diagnostic solutions

for some of today’s most pressing

cardiac health concerns. So

we’ve developed advanced

tools to assist the world’s echo

researchers in their pursuit of

better answers.

Acoustic Quantification (AQ)

AQ technology advanced the perception of echo by providing validated, objective data such as LV volumes for real-time, beat-to-beat EF and other parameters. AQ analyzes raw acoustic signals before they are processed into video data and classifies them as either blood or tissue, using Philips’ automated border detection technology. By comparing changes in the blood area throughout the cardiac cycle, AQ obtains an objective, quantifiable measurement of cardiac function. Well-defined cardiac anatomy provided by Philips Harmonic Fusion Imaging enhances the automated tracking of endocardial blood interfaces, making AQ studies easier to perform.

Color Kinesis

Philips Color Kinesis is a unique, visually objective means of viewing wall motion abnormalities. An extension of Philips’ automated border detection technology, Color Kinesis keeps track of the blood and tissue borders and their transitions, then color-codes the moving endocardial border to show—on every frame and in real time—sequential stages of segmental wall motion throughout the cardiac cycle.

Quantitative Stress Echo

Providing a quantitative approach to stress echocardiography enables objective detection, analysis and documentation of cardiac wall motion. That’s why we developed Quantitative Stress Echo. A convergence of several technological advancements, Quantitative Stress Echo helps improve the interpretation of stress echocardiograms and reduces inter-observer variability among clinicians.

n tificationA palette of contrast imaging techniques

Philips’ leadership and collaboration with researchers, clinicians and contrast agent manufacturers began more than a decade ago. During that time, Philip’s pioneered harmonic imaging, a technology critical to the successful use of contrast agents in ultrasound.

Successful ultrasonic diagnosis with contrast agents requires an echo system sensitive to the smallest differences in contrast agent along with solutions that are not limited to just one application. The SONOS 7500 system is uniquely suited to contrast imaging. The system is contrast ready as agents become available for new intended uses.
