• Cat rhymes with hat. You can hear how the sounds correspond.

• Cat in the Hat by Dr.Seuss have a lot of rhyming words.

WHAT IS POETRY?

Poetry is rhythmical composition that can be written or spoken.

Poems use rhythm to make up poetry.

• From Green Eggs and Ham- I do not like them in a box. I do not like them with a fox.

• Fox and box are the corresponding sounds.

• I do not like them in a house. I do not like them with a mouse.

• House and mouse are the corresponding sounds.

• The corresponding sounds can be recognized because they have rhythm to them!
