Landscape Photography

This type of photography shows different spaces within the world. It captures the beauty of our world. These places usually have no or little human life within them. This type of photography is taken in a wide long shot so that you can focus on a certain part of the image. Here are some examples of some Landscape photographers. I chose these examples of photography because as they present natural landscape with little or no human activity. They allow us to view vast scenes and secluded areas

Comparisons Landscape photography has not really changed over the years, it’s all pretty much the same. The only thing that has changed is the technology that photographers are using. Cameras are a lot more advanced nowadays. The image quality is loads better, the images are a lot more sharper and more clear. Here is an example of a photograph taken in 1902 and a photograph from today.

Marco PhotographyMacro photography, also known as macrophotography is the art of capturing detail. These photographs are mainly nature and insects shots. This is to show things that cannot normally be seen. They use depth of field because it allows how much of the image is in focus. Here are some examples of some amazing Marco photography

Comparison With the development of digital cameras, the old definition of macro photography has begun to change. Today, zoom lenses and magnification are often used for Marco photography. Marco photography requires a number of different accessories, including a Marco lens, an extension tube to attach a lens to the camera and reversing ring.

Fashion Photography Fashion photography is seen as a art from. Fashion photography has changed a lot over the years from being very formal to very experimental. Designed to sell clothes by making them (the model) look good. Technology is becoming more sophisticated, the camera equipment and the software. Photoshop is a fairly new photo editing software, fashion photographers generally use this to make their photos stand out and look perfect. As an audience we have a different view of what's acceptable.

Here is a picture of the first ever vogue cover. Here is a photo of the latest

vogue cover.

Obviously a lot has changed with fashion photography and vogue magazine. In the first image they use a cartoon image and the only text on the page is ‘’Forecast of Autumn Fashions’’ On the newest vogue cover there is an obvious difference. They used a real model her pose is a lot more ;; sexy’’ then the cartoon one. There is a lot more writing on the page advertising fashion.

Portrait Photography

Portrait photography or portraiture is the capture by means of photography of the likeness of a person or a small group of people (a group portrait), in which the face and expression is predominant. The objective is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the subject. Its used to photograph celebrities, school photos and real life. Portrait photography is often close up of peoples faces, but I can be a photo with the family.

Photojournalism

The art or practice of communicating news by photographs in magazines and newspapers. Photojournalism is distinguished from other close branches of photography (e.g., documentary photography, social documentary photography, street photography or celebrity photography. The only problem with this is that the images may not be 100% real as editors could manipulate the image in Photoshop.

Kevin Carter-1994

HistoryThe practice of illustrating news stories with photographs was made possible by printing and photography innovations that occurred between 1880 and 1897. While newsworthy events were photographed as early as the 1850s, printing presses could only publish from engravings until the 1880s. Early news photographs required that photos be re-interpreted by an engraver before they could be published. Train wrecks and city fires were a popular subject in these early days

Advertising Photography.

Advertising photography is quite simply to sell a product, and it is used pretty much everywhere you go. These images are eye catching and make you want to part with your money because of something we just must have. You will see this type of photography on billboards, magazines, tv, cds, posters and films.

Jonathon Knowles

Advertising photography started in 1920’s. In those days it was to sell story's, nowadays it sells a person in a advert as well.
