Vadi Medi, Manjal, Near Nakhtrana, Kutch.Vadi Medi in local Kutchhi dialect is roughly translated as

Great/larg Chamber. The remaining ruins would suggest

the grandness of the original structure. The structure isclaimed to be the palace of Jam Punvaro. However, there

is no clear trace in history to determine the origin of the

structure.Palar Dhuna waterfallFrom Vadi Medi as one leaves the road and take trek of

2km along side a small seasonal river, one reaches at thepoint where water takes dive of around 35-40 feet.

During good monsoon the river overfows at this point

and create waterfall. Due to dynamic water ow for long

period rocks in the downriver have been carved into deep

valley and humidity in the velley supports variety of ora

and fauna are found there. Palar Dhuna is also popular

trek site and local adventurers regularly visit it for trekking

and rock climbing experiences. When we visited the place, on account of the lacksture

rainfall despite high monsoon season, waterfall was

absent. However, residual water in waterholes provide

sucient to support to common resident birds like swift,

    Baya weaver, Eurasian eagle/owl.Date : 28th July , 2013
