File Resolutions
• 300 dpi print quality
• 72 dpi for web
• 180dpi what our digital camera uses
• The keys you use to make the clone stamp tool work is “option”.
• To darken a picture you use the “burn tool”.
• The selection tool that “clings to the edges” of an image is the magnetic lasso.
• A color scheme that “pops” off the page is Complimentary.
• Jerry Uelsmann’s style of photography is “surrealism”.
• Contrast is controlled by: brightness & darkness, curves, levels, or exposure
• Warm colors are “fire” colors
• Cool colors are colors of water
• Fauvism is strong line and bright colors.
• We print at 8 x 10 inches
• Grayscale is the same as Black & White
• Monochromatic is one color with it’s shades and tints.
• A checkered background means the picture is transparent
• Best time to get photos is early evening and early morning.
• RGB are monitor colors
• CMYK are printing colors
• You can get colors from the web with the eyedrop tool in Photoshop
• To reset the preferences in Photoshop hold down command, option and shift and relaunch the program.
• You use the Rule of Thirds to get a good composition in photos.
