PHOTOGRAPHY

"A photograph is not created by a photographer. What they do is just open a little window and capture it. The world then writes itself on the

film. The act of the photographer is closer to reading than it is to writing. They are the readers of the world."

-Ferdinando Scianna

WANDERLUSTSan Luis Potosí, Mexico - 2014

/ˈwändərˌləst/

Noun: A strong desire to travel: "a man consumed by wanderlust".

Being afraid of dephts while your whole family loves swimming and playing in the water makes you learn how to enjoy other elements: the soft breeze in your face, the beautiful flowers that bloom in desertic places and watch as the curious fish come to investigate the pair of feet barely touching the water.

PLAYING LIGHTSNordsee, Netherlands - 2009

“I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.”

- Og Mandino

This set of photos was taken during my gap year in Germany, where I retook photography and realized a lot of the effects I could create playing with natural lights.

LA DOLCE VITA

Milano, Italy - 2015

“We must get beyond passions, like a great work of art. In such miraculous harmony. We should learn to love each other so much to live outside of time... detached.”

― Federico Fellini

La Dolce Vita is the result from the Fashion Image and Styling course taken at NABA.

This set of photographies try to relate a story of sweet and playful romance, where it’s left to the imagination if it’s a date with someone or with oneself.

THE CATS FROM ISTANBUL

Istanbul and Efes, Turkey - November 2015

“Every true love and friendship is a story of unexpected transformation. If we are the same person before and after we loved, that means we haven’t loved enough.”

― Elif Shafak, turkish writter.

A trip to Turkey in 2015 was the result of my traveler’s gene, the one that told me to take risks, to follow my heart and discover a country which is not very good seen in the western world. In Istanbul, I can say I discovered myself.

One of the main elements of the country of the thousand wonders, were its stray cats, that even thou they live mainly on the streets, mosques, coffee shops or balconies, are greatly welcomed by the passerbies, that build them houses and leave them food and water, showing great respect for any kind of life.

THE PLACE OF A THOUSAND WONDERS

Turkey - November 2015

“If one had but a single glance to give the world, one should gaze on Istanbul.

― Alphonse de Lamartine.

Going against the thoughts of my so-conservative catholic family, I parted to Istanbul on November 5th, 2015. From the day I arrived, until the day I left, on December 2nd, I discovered flavours I hadn't even imagined before, I tasted the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had, and listened to prayers that sounded like music to my ears.

Traveling through the streets of Istanbul, Izmir and Gaziantep, made me realize the similarities and differences from this culture, and the ones I’ve experienced. It was an experience about growth and love, where food and religion taught me to appreciate everything surrounding me.

....and it is so strange to realize how much I felt at home in the country of a thousand wonders.

HOPE

Marseille, France - July 2015

27

-From the sculptural serie-

Sculptures have always caught my attention. There’s something in them that makes me feel they are alive even though they’re made of stone.

During my last trip, I found this sculpture, and I feel it reflects perfectly all the route, hopes, fear, and a small part of the story many immigrants have to tell.

This picture is my way of telling and supporting all of the immigrants, not solely in Europe, also in Latin america, and the whole world. This is my way of telling them, there’s hope, there’s light in the end.
