PHOTOSYNTHESIS

• Plants breathe and make their own food using a proccess called Photosynthesis.

• To perform photosynthesis, plants need water, sunlight and carbon dioxide(CO 2)

• During photosynthesis, plants release oxygen(O 2) into the air.

Plants make food in their leaves. The plant absorbs carbon dioxide from the air through small holes in their leaves. Using energy from the Sun, the carbon dioxide is combined with water and sunlight to make food

RESPIRATION

• Plants are living things, so they need to breathe just like people and animals.

• During the day they can also produce oxygen thanks to photosynthesis.

• During the night they take the oxygen from the air and release carbon dioxide.
