A CHALLENGE TO YOUTH Which way are you facing so . Toward s u n r 1 s > promise o sunset's rest? Oh yes there are hills and dee ravines And storms will threaten am mar fair scenes; But are you awake to danger perchance Or just idly dreaming some cheap romance?. And another question I would ask , Are you sitting waiting and shirking some task? Or are you so busy with work you find; That you are an asset now to mankind? How much are your thoughts and efforts worth? On history's pages will you too bless earth? The history of earth's great souls Should -set your heart on higher goals Than any age has won before. Your life should challenge the future's score. Today you are choosing what life you will live What challenge to future goals you'll give. When life's last sun for, you goes down ' ."You will meet your doom or receive your crown. We 'build on foundations our forebears laid. We reap heavenly good for which they prayed. Dare we then do less than our sires have done? No we must wipe skies clean of stains that hide GOD'S sun. OBITUARY MBS. JERUSHA GRAY . . . passed away Feb. 9 at the home of her son, Charles D. Pastor's Wife Reads Own Poem

- at Scout Service: Last Sunday evening durln

a Boy Scout service at the Firs ' Christian church, Mrs. Frank 1

Porter, wife of the pastor, re i. cited an original t¥>om whlc n was apropos to the progranr

She entitled her contribution . . A CHALLENGE TO YOUTH

Which way are you facing so

. Toward s u n r 1 s > promise o sunset's rest?

Oh yes there are hills and dee ravines

And storms will threaten am mar fair scenes;

But are you awake to danger perchance

Or just idly dreaming some cheap romance?.

And another question I would ask ,

Are you sitting waiting and shirking some task?

Or are you so busy with work you find;

That you are an asset now to mankind?

How much are your thoughts and efforts worth?

On history's pages will you too bless earth?

The history of earth's great souls

Should -set your heart on higher goals

Than any age has won before. Your life should challenge the

future's score. Today you are choosing what

life you will live What challenge to future goals

you'll give. When life's last sun for, you

goes down '• ."You will meet your doom or

receive your crown. We 'build on foundations our

forebears laid. We reap heavenly good for

which they prayed. Dare we then do less than our

sires have done? No we must wipe skies clean of stains that hide GOD'S sun.
