Physical or Mechanical weathering
This is an example of
root wedgingRoots produce carbonic acid that dissolves minerals in rocks. ( chemical )
Roots grow through cracks in rocks. ( physical)
This is an example of of tumbling and abrasion
Abrasion happens when rocks rub together.
Tumbling happens when rocks roll on the surface hitting other rocks.
This is an example of differential weathering.
Minerals in the middle of the rock is more prone to weathering.
