PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH
Whaia te iti kahuranga ki te tuahu koe me he maunga teitei
We have an energetic and experienced department with a team that bring a wide range of skills to the School - Mrs Charissa Barham (HOD), Mrs Shelley Morris and Mrs Dionne Thomas.
OUR AIM
Junior PE – all active, having a blast all of the timeThe junior programme is designed around a range of experiences within which the girls will find a strength they can focus on. Each year we link the programme to the next year and build it towards NCEA. The Year 10 programme has a slightly different focus than Year 7-9 where it takes on more group and student directed learning.
Senior PE – aim for the top of the tree – we won’t get off the ground – aim for the stars and we will get to the top of the tree
ACHIEVEMENT
Our results have been consistently high and above national averages. Merit and excellence grades are considered a normality in terms of goals. Many of the achievement standards are linked to their sport and the community to establish networks and relationships for further careers.
